Real wouldnt buy him for his onfield talents (altho moving Figo to LM, and puting Becks on the right is a possibility)...Real would buy him simply because they would make the money back for the transfer in the money and support Beckham would bring to the club from around the globe...

Real and Man Utd are the most famous clubs around the globe-undoubtably...Man Utd might not be as good as Real, but their support in Asia is huge....If Real bought Beckham, much of this support would transfer to them....Asia is a huge market, so it would be a great business move. It doesnt matter ohw good he is at soccer...But...the move could also backfire: If Beckham doesnt start at Real, Sven might not choose him, and his popularity will go down...

Truthfully, RM is the last position Real need at the moment...Figo, Beckham, and McManaman all at the one club is ludicrous....

As far as onfield performance goes, buy a good Left Midfielder...Its a much smart soccer move...LM is the one position they really lack (considering that Roberto Carlos is a LB-NOT LDM)...I still think Kewell to Real would be a great move. Kewell can play in teh centre or on the wing, SO he could play inside Roberto Carlos, and as an attacking mid....Salgado is a back who likes to get forward-like Roberto Carlos, and he manages to share the wing with Figo, Im sure RC and a good Left sided mid could do the same.

Either they do that, OR they buy another really good CB. Hierro is about 80 years old, so a CB wouldnt do them harm...

With Beckham in Madrid, I see Real playing with a 4-3-3 next season. Like:
Casillas
Salgado Hierro Helguera Roberto Carlos
Beckham Makelele Zidane
Figo Ronaldo Raul

What a waste of talent! They'd really need a CB, maybe two, then they'd really be a super team. Also, they're getting old. Hierro, Helguera, Roberto Carlos, Zidane, Figo, Makelele, all are 30 yo or more.

I am still unsure about all this speculation.

Beckham will not play any better by moving away from Old Trafford. If he goes to Real Madrid he will end up like Steve McManaman.

There's talk about whether Beckham wants to leave but at the end of the day if Man Utd doesn't want to sell him he's going nowhere.

Well we have already seen one young Portugese player in the league and no offense to Magpie supporters Viana didnt have the best of seasons. He is taleneted though and i reckon things will get better for him.

Not too sure about this Quaresma kid.

The same happens to Real Madrid some years ago...they had the choise to buy Figo, but they don't wanna spend that kind of money(??????) and Luis Figo made his run to FC Barcelona. Years later Real Madrid spend a large amount of money to have him in his team. i'll tell you this...Man United will regret A LOT in the future if they miss the aquisition of this GRAT PLAYER, you know, it seems Inter Milan, Atlético Madrid and Real Madrid offers, recently, a bunch of money to take him from Sporting C.P. ( Sporting "Lisbon"). But Man Utd still have the CHOISE if they pay the amount that is in his contract. Be sure that Quaresma is one HELL of a player, that kind of players that appears once in 20 years!!!!! Maybe he is a litlle too young (19 years old), so Man Utd could prevent them selfs and buy the FUTURE WORLD BEST PLAYER and loan him for a season or two to Sporting C.P.; it will be very nice for everybody, including Quaresma , that could own some International experience before he debutes in Premiership!!!!!
