I don't know about you guys but I'm getting tired of the saga now. Like JJ said the papers rely on Beckham and his wife to fill their pages and it shows. The past month has been filled with it, and the story hasn't changed a bit. It's like reading the same book over and over again. I skip the stories on him now, unless one come up saying it's official that he's staying/going.

Beckham has 2 yrs left on his contract and he should sign an extension if he wants to stay as it is generally United's policy on first-teamers to tie them to a new contract 2yrs before their current deal runs out. Imo Beckham earns a load at United, if he doesn't sign, and I were manager, I'd sell him to the highest bidder, he's 28 and you'd get the maximum possible in a players career for him.

I don't think the signing of Ronaldinho, if United do get him, would have the slightest impact on Beckham's future. They play in different positions to start with.

I'd like Beckham to stay because he is a footballing asset to the club, but if the media cirucs that surrounds him, and isn't helped by his lifestyle, is causing problems at United then he should go. No player is bigger than the club. It's not a problem if it doesn't interfere with the team's football and the only person in a position to judge that is Ferguson. He'll make the right choice.

I was worried that we'd miss his free-kicks until I thought about who else we have, Veron and Giggs are more than capable of scoring them and Veron's was probably the best of the year last season. But they are not quite as consistant as Becks at scoring them. If Ronaldinho comes in we won't be short of takers on that front.

There is a good short article on Beckham's commercial worth to Man U here:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/m/man_utd/2965336.stm

In the end the author seems to think that selling Beckam for the quoted 30 mil pounds is a very good business decision. I think it makes footballing sense. With all that Beckham money Man U can not only buy Ronaldinho, but also a class striker to partner with RVN (assuming Ronaldinho doesn't play that part), and a world class center back to partner with Rio. Beckham is way, way more famous than his footballing ability merits. Man U have done very well with Butt or Solskjaer in Beckham's role when he has been injured or out of favor. As for the free kicks, Veron, Giggs, RVN and Ronaldinho are more than capable. (Just ask David Seaman.) Even if they don't score quite as consistently as Beckham would, I don't think the difference would be very big.

Beckham is a great player, but everyone has his price, and if Milan or someone else match it (as it is looking like they will) Beckham will, and should, leave.

I heard from my sources that a Beckham deal to Barca should be completed within the next 48 hours, or at the most just after the Slovakia game.

My *sources* aren't the greatest, but They were the first people to know about some big signings in the past... I still don't see it happening myself.

EDIT: This apparently was also heard on Irish radio too (don't ask me why they were listening to it)

Beckham has said that he has 'no plans' to talk with the Barcelona president and that he is being used as a 'political pawn'. That sounds as if he doesn't want to go to Barca.

**** it! ****ing Fegie! Grrrrrr...... How the hell will RvN score more than 46 goals next season, without Beckham? Who the **** will make those dream crosses for us? I am gutted at Ferguson. He did it to Konchelsky but he found a good replacement, even better-Beckham! Now if he is going to do it again, he better find a better replacement than Beckham, like he found one for Konchelsky. :kader: :f***: . Having great players, doesn't mean that those crosses won't be missing, they were the driving force behind the team.

Beckham better, slap Fergie and stay with United, if Beckham will reject all the offers, Fergie won't leave him on the bench, he will re-think it for by then. PLEEEEEEAAAAASEEEEEEEE, Fergie, don't make me a ****ing glory hunter, i don't want to support 2 teams at once and especially i don't want one of them to be Barca, atleast Milan, but not Barca and Real:kader: . I am really mad, that this soap opera, took such a big turn! Beckham better stay and let everything finish a happy end, like in all soap operas.

It took me quite a while to understand that because Paul Konchensky never played for United or under Sir Alex Ferguson. But then I realised that you're talking about Andrei KANCHELSKIS.

As for supplying RvN and setting him up for goals, Veron, Giggs, Scholes and Ronaldinho are more than capable. I predict Ronaldinho will more than make up for Beckham's absence (on the field). Off the field, it may be different. As perhaps the strangest looking guy in football I don't see Ronny becoming quite the icon that Beckham has become. With the extra money they could also get Kluivert and another world class player (defender?) in addition to Ronny. The bottom line is: By selling Becks, Man U could become a much better team. Beckham is a good player and works hard, but really is a 2 trick pony. Crossing from the right and free kicks. I'd prefer Man U have a better more versatile player with more skill and less celebrity than Soccer Spice. 30 million pounds is more than Beckham is worth in my opinion, and if that's the offer on the table, I say "Do it Fergie! Sell Becks!"

Exactly!;) . Thanks for correcting. That's a shame to me to not know the last name of one of the greatest Russian players. DOn't forget Russia is not USSR, so LEv Yashin etc. doesn't count.

Ofcoarse they all can, even Gary Neville can do a good cross but no one of them makes a cross of Beckham qualities. Just check the Key Passes for this season, Beckham tops the list. Because he is the best passer in th world, that's why he is starting and he is the best long ball passer in the world too.

Beckham remained on top of the assists list in the Man Utd payroll last season, despite having a 'poor' season last term.

He is not irreplacable, but he is still going to be a big loss. We don't want a bunch of mercenaries who aren't prepared to play for the club when the going gets tough.
