Ill buy the game anyways. So i dont care about demo.

BUt there is people outside that like to test things first...and obviosly EA is fdoing this because they know thats ome will dont like the demo, and theyll lost money. IN this way they keep the consumers hunger for the game,,,and in their release they lost less money.

I dont like that way though.

If you like football enough and in particular football games on PC, then you will buy whatever football games that are released for the PC. FIFA, PES, whatever football simulation.

Something in my head tells me this game is going to be a mess. Watching the videos, this "off the ball" control looks a bit difficult to pick up. The career mode might be cool, but I have been playing NHL 2004, and it also has a franchise mode. If it is anything like this, it will be quite dull. Does anyone else think that the players look a bit strange in 2004? They run around like hunchbacks, and the ball runs away from them as soon as they touch it! As for 2003, I didn't think it was that bad of a game. The only thing that bothered me was that is became a bit too easy after a while, and you couldn't do any headers for direction. But otherwise, I thought it was fairly solid. And I could score on corners quite easily and crosses. I have read on these boards that people had trouble with it. But that is how I got most of my goals!

Demo or not, I will still buy 2004.

i doubt it will be difficult, if its like the "playmaker control" in Madden it'll be easy to pick up.

All adds up to one thing. The demo will not appear until after the actual game is released. Reason? Well, EA read these boards and everybody and their dog has said they won't buy FIFA 2004 until they've played the demo. If I was EA and read that I'd think "they won't wait for the demo once the game is in the stores, they won't be able to resist". And they're right.

You can't tell me all the FIFA fans are going to ignore FIFA 2004 in it's nice new shiny box in the store window for weeks while you wait until you can play the demo! Of course not, you're going to go into the store and buy the game. Probably the majority of the copies are sold within the first month anyway becasue of the "I want it now" syndrome.

Mark my words (and I'll get the spoon ready for the humble pie if I'm wrong) but I have a VERY strong feeling you guys won't see a demo until after the release of the game.

Matt may tell you otherwise but the fact even he has no clue of a date anytime soon and the release is under three weeks away.......

eh!eh!eh!eh! You just take the words of my mouth...despite that is a nice idea from EA. But i'll resist and wait for what "fools" have to say after playing the game...till then ...i'll just wait and play WE7:rockman: :rockman:

October 24th is a Friday. I doubt this will be the date the game is released in the USA. In the US all new releases of anything come out on a Tuesday. Music, rental movies, and video games I believe.

If you found 2003 solid,,you have serious problems. WE was way better.

This 2004 seems much better than 2003.

for me .. this is the first time that i will try the game before buying it

i play fifa since the fifa 1994 ... and always i buy it without seeing any screenshot or vedio or any demo

but this year iam with the game from the making of .. and iam waiting the demo since June ...

and second ... the making od the demo is harder than the game ... cause they first make the full game .. then put some codes to it .. so the teams are gone some where

I'm thinking that given they have to distribute the game worldwide, stock stores and online warehouses, that the game is finished up by now. It takes a long time to manufacture millions upon millions of disks, package them and distribute them worldwide.

I'm just a little suspicious why all of a sudden they've changed their strategy. If they're so proud of their product then they shouldn't have any fear in releasing a demo of it making us all chomp at the bit and rush to the stores to buy it.

What's the betting that they've hit some huge wall with some feature of the gameplay which they can't fix quickly enough like with the heading last year. Just wait, they'll be no such thing as offside or something or it will return to the days of a 100% guranteed goal if you shoot from certain spots.

(Don't get me wrong though, I do love EA, I buy Madden every year and up until last year I bought FIFA every year.)

well.. I read an interview with a game developer once.. and it said that final code has to be summitted 3 weeks before the release date. Or something like that. Is well known that EA only releases demos from final code. So is likely they waited until they sumitted the final code before starting to work on making a demo.

Maybe, but you'd think it would have been done by now. If they screw up the worldwide distribution because of delays they'll lose millions of sales from d/l where people get pissed off at people enjoying the game while they have to wait an extra week for it to hit the stores. Nothing worse than coming on a forum and reading about somebody virtually masturbating about how great the game is yet you haven't got a clue when it's gonna be in your local store.

A worlwide simultaneous release breaks that d/l possibility at least to an extent. If they don't have everything packaged and ready to go within the next week, it's gonna be chaos. My brother works for a distribution company and he knows how long it takes to stock stores around the world from a distribution point. He said the packaging process and the distribution takes a good two weeks on a rollout of not even huge titles let alone something like FIFA which is enormous around the world. That would mean that the final disks should be in the middle of being pressed now or almost finished.

That's assuming the release dates we have are correct.

If I were EA, I'd release the demo quickly if the game is that great. That way I'd make sure everybody rushed to the store on the first day rather than having people waiting four days to d/l it because they don't want to risk throwing away $40.

Something's up somewhere, you can smell it!

nah I think is just taking them longer than last year to finish the game, and they wanted to make sure they have the game finished before spending time making a demo, last year the demo came out around 3 weeks before release.. as long as it comes out 1 week before the game is released it will be alright.
