I dunno I think pes 2009 is just along the lines of the older titles pes 4,5,6 but with next-gen gfx, physics etc...which is a good thing I guess...unlike 2008 which was like a totally different brand.

I like fifa 2009 skill moves and gfx etc but playing the game just seems to lack something as per always which I can't pinpoint exactly its just not smooth and free, open like pes games.

You are absolutely right. FIFA games are just not smooth enough.
