Best game of 2005?

Squaresoft and Enix (now known as "Square-Enix" after the merger) are the kings of developing RPGs, not BioWare. Don't get me wrong, Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights are impressives titles, but they utterly pale in comparison to the likes of critically acclaimed titles' such as Xenogears, Chrono Trigger, Valkyrie Profile, and the Final Fantasy, Breath of Fire and Dragon Warrior series'. And that's not even the half.

I've never played Jade Empire, myself (I like to stick to traditional RPGs). But I hear it's a really good, and it got some phenominal scores -- IGN gave it a 9.9 -- That score is mind-boggling. It must be a near-perfect game.
Jade is great. Fantastic graphics and music, good fighting action, and the storyline is awesome. Suspenseful and full of choices, there are many side quests to be triggered depending on the people you talk to, and for almost every side quest there are different ways of completing it where you can choose your style to complete it to gain Open Palm (good) points or Closed Fist (evil) points. The environment is of heavy ancient-Chinese influence with some touches of technology and the future. There are flying ships made of bamboo and gears. And as you roam around the country during the game, meeting different people, you can learn new martial arts styles and new weapon styles. I even got a shotgun weapon for defeating a white guy that invaded into the country. (6)

need4speed is good, but it isn't the best of the series, and the ones i mentioned are. i know it's not a thread about the best of the series, but i can't say a game is 'the best of the year' knowing they could've done better.
