Best game of all time?

God kows how many people have attempted to create a thread about the best game of all time, and im the next one. Basically, you choose a game that you think 'rocks' - non football, or all the answers may well be "CM2" or "FIFA 99" etc.

I have never forgotten how much fun i had playing GTA 2, it was not the best when it came down to graphics, but the gameplay ansd the enjoymenht factors win the award for me. GTA 3 Vice Vity, whilst fun, i found a bit too hard.

ah, the glory days of MGS. I feel that the sequel lacked something, not quite sure what it was, but it lacked, and that tarnished the first MGS i feel.

I know, i know, i shouldnt judge it by the sequel, but its true. It really did tarnish the first one, well, for me it did anyway.

There are loads. I used to play things like Space Invaders, Donkey Kong and Pacman loads as a kid, so they have to go down in the all time best list for what they did for gaming and the games industry.

Then there was Doom, which really introduced 3D fps' to the masses, but I didn't play it much (except at school where I found that the teacher had stuck a sneaky copy of it on their small network)

...and gta, which was the first game that allowed so much freedom to the player to play the game at their pace and as they wanted. I had so much fun with this, I thought it was better than gta2 because, although the graphics weren't quite as sharp the camera distance was better.

Mind you gta:vice city is probably my favourite non-football game, a vast 3d environment to explore and cause chaos in, complete with a great soundtrack (and I was never a huge fan of 80s music). There's just so much detail and freedom in it that it's easily up there.

The Half-Life series has got to be the best. It's had 2 games based on the storyline, opposing force and blue shift. It's had some great mods like Counter-Strike and Day of Defeat

It's a tough one but Mafia is definitely up there - along with medal of honour and some others that I can't quite think of rite now..........it'll come to me.

Perfect Dark and Goldeneye on N64 are definately two of the best.

Phantasy Star Online for Gamecube is up there too.

Counterstrike on PC changed online games and is awesome.

Grand Theft Auto 3 changed games and now there are heaps of games based on the 3d city game

Well there would be loads for me..but for naming my personnel favourites:

Max Payne-I dont know if this game fascinates you but I really liked it..the story,grafix etc..all things were really enjoyable.

GTA Vice City-Although I think it feels same as we are playin GTA 3 but this game is really class.

FIFA 2003-I played it too much but havent played from months..but the grafix look stunning this year.

NBA 2003-Really like this game..havent played this mch..got it day before yesterday only:p

NFS Series-I only play this as my racing game..well I think NFS HP2 could have been better but anyways I enjoy it.
