Best of the Rest XI

I think Finalnd's Eremenko, based on all the goals he scored, could be on in the eleven...but they mention him at the bottom so it's alright.

I dont think Holland, Argentina, Serbia and IC are the real group of death...the guy's got a point there...Holland and Argentina will go through no prob...especially based on the scheduling

i think a guy that deserved wc football is shay given he has been irelands best player for a few years and for newcastle has played man of the match for most weeks

How about Juan Veron? :(

He is 31 now and Argentina NT already have Roman, Aimar...but he is playing really well at Inter right now. And he is an experienced player or even captain in the team.

Wish to see him play in the finals.

yeah but Eto'o doesn't deserve to be there for being a c*nt.

good post Yash.... (H)

Have to agree though, not many from there i'd chose from, perhaps with the exception of Eto'o himself.

its total crap, and if you're gonna pick a goalkeeper, why not Shay Given?
Because Nikopolidis is better.

I agree with a lot of it, although Okacha hasn't really been great recently. And Yobo is too shaky for me, but I am having a brain-blank for who else won't be there.

Shay Given is an incredibly underrated keeper, he's up there with the best of the EPL (Y)

The Man From Ohio
He's consistent as hell, too. He's been one of the three best keepers in the EPL for the last few seasons.

Either or. The guy always plays fair. Wish the same could be said about your Drogba.
That makes two of us. Add class and ability as well.

Its not about him on the field. Its his lack of character. He thinks hes king f*cking swaggercock the way he talks about how he will punish teams for what they have done to him, who deserves what, etc. Very Mourinho-esque, but he is a player, not a damn manager. Ordinarily I would just think he was funny, but then he justified his childish spitting and attempted brawl after the last years tie with Chelsea in London by claiming he was called a monkey. That was a claim made at the height of the racism issues that year, and amazingly, not another living soul on either team could corroborate the incident. I guess it mustve been worth expectorating on another human being, though, because I havent heard a pip out of Eto'o about the claim he was going to file since.

When I saw him crying on the pitch after 1. Talking endless sh*t about how Cameroon were going to beat the Ivory Coast so that he could prove he was better than Drogba 2. he lost his nerve and gave the penalty to Wome, I laughed, and Im not ashamed to admit it. Even had the gutlessness to sell Wome out. True Champion

Because Nikopolidis is better.

I agree, alot of you guys say Given should be there but Nikopolidis has proven himself on the international stage, so has Given, but the Greek's got the hardware.

I don't think Diouf should be there, mind you he's fantastic for Senegal, what other right wingers are there?
