Hey guys... First thank you for the wonderful conversations you are all creating.
Now, I've been testing many things and I'm 80% complete!
Many new codes from EA and many hours of testing; Whenever I get an idea to implement, even while sleeping, I would jump out of the bed and go test it, and everything is turning out to be OK.
Changing and modifying the codes is in fact a very hard job, I mean testing each value is a whole job and then running the game and testing it again is another new job. I always must make sure that I'm not fooling my self into believing that I'm doing some changes that are really not happening; I hope that by now many of you understand how hard it is to test these codes.
The most complicated part comes when you are trying to change something that is related with 5 or 6 other codes! for example, if I change the gravity of the ball, automaticcaly the lob passes are going to get longer, so I'll have to change the lob values, which will also automatically change the speed of the game, then I go back again to fixing the speed of shots because they are by then faster than usual, the same with passes!!!!!!!
So you see, changing one single code can affect a bunch of codes that will eventually ruin many aspects of the game if not taken care of. Having said that, I believe that when you are good enough in editing these files it'll become much simpler to try out stuff, because by then you'll directly take into consideration any things that may get affected by changing one code or another. it is just like learning any language.
I'll always try sharing what I know, but I need you all to use your "smart side" of your brain in order to do a good job, in other words, always think of it as a game not real life. for example if you think about changing the player speed, I need you to also think of what will happen from that change. If the player running was slowed down then the passing of the ball will "look" fast (logic), so, you'll have to lower the ball pass speed to make it more real. Now this is the logical part, but the experience part comes when you can "imagine" what will happen (in my case :P) without going into a match. So, keep testing and learning.
This will improve your skill in understanding not only FIFA 07 editing but many other games, because at the end all of these are programs with codes.
Anyways, I'll not talk more, instead I'll continue testing the codes until I make the game as sexy as possible!
One of the biggest improvements I'm done with is the realistic number of "shots on goal" done by the 2 playing teams, many error shots and many lost balls, very interesting stuff.
Enjoy!
