STAN AGREES NEW BLUES DEAL
Birmingham City winger Stan Lazaridis has agreed a new deal to stay at St Andrews.
The 32-year-old had been considering his future as he had just one year to run on his current deal.
Lazaridis has now agreed a one-year extension with the option of another after lengthy talks with Blues officials.
The former West Ham star admitted a number of other clubs had expressed an interest in him, but that his first intention was always to stay with Birmingham.
"Of course, I am really happy to be staying at the club," Lazaridis told the club's official website.
"There has been interest in me from a few clubs over the summer, which is very flattering from my point of view.
"To a lot of the clubs I have said that if Brucie (Steve Bruce) didn't want me here or was looking to move me on, then I would listen to what they had to offer.
"But if he did want me here, I would rather stay, even if it was on less money than I might get elsewhere, because I am settled here and I am happy."
