There are benefits like first-team football. I can imagine him on the bench if he joined a big club . Look at Scott Parker, he ain't getting many games since his move to Chelsea. Most players would consider first-team football than huge salaries.

That has to be one of the most rigamarole statements I have ever seen. What a petty shot to try to make me look dumb :funny:

Rigamarole ? to your pea of a brain maybe... but the statement sounded completely coherent to me.

And yeah it doesn't take much effort to make you look dumb.

fulham r also in the hunt and may get kezman for 3m

Really reckon we could be in with a chance here, although why he would want to come to us or brum is beyond me....anyway here is the reason I reckon we got a better chance than brum....

from a Serbian paper, translated through a slav mate of mine:

Mateja Kezman has poured scorn on rumours linking him to Barcelona in the summer, and reinforced his desire to play in the Premiership following his teams narrow defeat to English team FC Newcastle on Wednesday night

The speedy forward in fact stated: "Maybe it's better if I go to a non-big European club to make my first step towards bigger clubs such as Real Madrid or Barcelona. With PSV I have reached every target. In fact I was top-scorer, won the national title and I was voted best player of the year 3 times. It's time for a new challenge, also because if I stay here it would be difficult to find valid motivations. I mean, if I stay any longer in Holland I will get motivational problems. I think this is the best moment for a transfer," said the striker.

Kezman says that he doesn't want to go to a big club, because he hasn't been able to show his full potential yet.

"Two years ago I wanted to go to a big club, but now I have to be realistic. I haven't scored a goal in the Champions League in the last two seasons, we never reached the second round in the tournament and I won't be playing in Portugal this summer," he explained.

Kezman, who has scored 87 goals in little over 3 and a half years at PSV, is currently being linked with moves to FC Bologna, FC Athletico Madrid, and FC Birmingham City. An unnamed English club has also expressed an interest in the former FK Partizan man, with a possible money and man deal being touted, and this is considered to be the Dutch side’s favoured option. Noises from the Philips stadium, suggest that whatever the deal made, it must be right for the club, before Kezman is consulted.

The prolific Serbia and Montenegro international, who famously ‘retired’ from international football when the JFA changed it’s name to SCG, has previously been linked with the traditional likes of Barcelona and Newcastle, but now, a lesser fashion club looks likely to win the race for this impressive coup. He is strongly considered Serbia’s most prolific attacking export since Predrag Mijatovic, who famously scored the winning goal in the 1998 champions league final, and plied his tried with Roma, Milan, and Real Madrid.

The 24-year-old, who netted a hat-trick at the last weekend to take his tally for the season to 25, is known to be keen on a move to the Premiership.

‘I like the Premiership, it’s the best league in the world. I was impressed by the atmosphere of St James’s park, but that did not surprise me. I think I will be playing in the Premiership next season, but for who, who knows’

Anyway as it says an unnamed English club has also expressed an interest in the former FK Partizan man, with a possible money and man deal being touted, and this is considered to be the Dutch side’s favoured option
Now baring in mind that PSV are desperate to get their hands on Edwin Van der Sar, who is currently on 40k a week at Fulham, which Fulham have said is unsustainable, especailly as it looks like Steve (30k) Marlet could return next season, VDS could and might be that player they mention. Also, Coleman and assistant manager were at St. James Park on Thursday to watch the Newcatle-PSV match. It may be for Kezman, it may not.

Do you see the Premier League? Have you seen what Birmingham has done so far?
Of course it isn't a big club but is getting bigger..
so i think it will be a good move for him and for birmingham

Agreed. I don't think we can really compare dutch clubs with English clubs, because of the massive gulf between the two leagues. Take England firstly, we have three massive clubs, who now are likely to get far in the Champions league. When I say far, I mean anywhere past the quarter finals, even possable winners. Outside these three in the EPL, we have a lot of smaller clubs but still of a reasonable size. i.e. anywhere between 25k-45k gates a week. These teams are capable of doing well in the Uefa cup, if they play at their full potential throughout the tornament. In the EPL, it is a lot closer, and as we have seen this year, a lot of the smaller clubs (Fulham, Birmingham and Charlton, have been pushing for a European place.) IF these teams do get into the Uefa cup, they could well get quite far, as we saw with Fulham last year. We qualified through the intertoto, and reached the third round. Admittedly, we should have got further. We were beaten by Hertha Berlin, who were a lot poorer than us.

However in Holland (The following is IMO) There are the big three like in England. However i believe that unlike England only Ajax out of the big three are Champions League quality. However, they are only just second round quality (if you see my angle.) PSV and Fayenoord (sp?) are only UEFA quality, the equivilent to the forementioned English teams. Outside of the Dutch big three, are smaller clubs such as Willem, Vitesse, or NEC, who IMO are the equivilent of lower table EPL standards.

Now I know we can't really compare the league;s in this way, but i believe it is a lot more acurate way of comparing the two, rather than the 'size' of the club.

Why does everybody think Ajax is so good? They were fourth in their group, PSV third, behind Deportivo and Monaco, 2 teams in the semies. They had even 10 points, as much as Depor:kader:

Didn't actually know that myself, however, I was going by the last 3-4years, where Ajax (bar Fayenoord's UEFA win) have been the most succesful dutch team in Europe.
