Last Conference National kits:

Kettering Town

Good kits jorge and scout!

I have started importing the north and south teams. I will continue with this and also with the tournaments. When that is done I will help finish off the kits.

The conference national is ready (without tournaments), if anyone wants to test it. Otherwise I think I can release a test version of all 3 divisions, with tournaments in two weeks (less if there are no problems).

Scouser, have you checked in-game MTFC kits?

Scouser, check whether MTFC home and away kits are new ones, manufactured by Canterbury. The previous kit manufacturer was Carlotti.

My next kit: St Albans City, rather singular and difficult-to-make one. Scouser, any progress with North & South?

The Mansfield kits are correct (my replay was deleted, I think there is a problem with the board).

I have imported the db, kits and logos of all north and south teams. The structures of the tournaments of the 3 divisions and the Setanta shield has been done, my game no longer crashes (it was the unset teams). There are some problems with the Setanta Shield at the minute though. I will probably continue with them on Friday as I will be away for a few days. Your Stalybridge kits are good by the way.

Good St Albans kits. Thanks for noting the collar numbers, one large remaining task is finding the collar numbers for the north and south kits, this saves me some time. I checked the St Albans home and there is a version with short sleeves.

The 3 divisions are now done as well as the playoffs the updates to league 2. As I mentioned before, I am having a problem with the Shield. I have created it so the entries will change each year in career mode, however the teams whose entry is from a playoff finish (ie national division runners up) are not avalible for selection in tournament mode, but do appear in the actual tournament. Any ideas?

Also I have a question for anyone in the 2nd year or later in career mode with and english team. Do teams enter the tournament at the correct stage based on the division they are currently in? Teams in the premier league and championship should enter in the 3rd round, other teams in previous rounds (1st in the actual competition). From looking at the tournament in creation master, I think that the tournament is set up so teams always enter at the same stage, regardless of their current division.

Also I think I may also need to update the league cup (Carling Cup) to include promoted teams and also because it has the wrong structure.

I still plan to try and release a test version next weekend (all 68 teams, 3 league tournaments + league 2 update, setanta shield).

Unfortunately I can't help you with this. All I can say is: make it as simple as possible, try to copy the EA tournament system. It's not perfect, but it works.

Correct. As far as I remember, last year when I was Millwall manager and we played in the Premier League, Millwall entered FA Cup in round 3 (FIFA 08). Even though in FIFA09 the teams always enter at the same stage - it's not a big drawback.

The kit-to-do list is rather short, only 5 teams left. But it's a pretty tough job to make'em in one week. We won't make it, unless you join right now. Frankly speaking I'm tired, it takes me too much time to make a good kit. You are much more experienced kitmaker than me and can finish them off alot quicker. I'll help you with the collars of the North division teams.
Hmm, haven't noticed that picture of St Albans kit with short sleeves. Good job!

In that case I will enter the playoff teams by league position instead, assuming the promoted team was the one that finished the highest of those teams. This will cause an anomaly if the highest placed team is not promoted as this team and the actual promoted team will swap places in all edited cups (not leagues though).

I intend to release the test version without the missing kits, with generic kits in their place. There is not rush to finish them. My plan is to release a second test version if there are alot of problems with the first, and then the final version. Only the final version needs every kit completed, and this will be released when everything is done, no target date. I just want to release a test version soon to get some feedback on what has been done.

I'll pay a close attention to this when you release v. 1.0 beta this weekend. Hope that someone else will test it. If nobody cares, you will do it your way. I'll accept any playable version of the Shield.

Scouser, are you going to preserve the existing format of the Shield? I mean this:

"... The first three rounds are contested solely between teams from the Conference's North and South divisions, however, until only 8 teams total from the two Divisions remain, at which point the teams of the Conference National will be entered. Matches which produce no winner after 90 minutes continue into extra time and then progress to a penalty shoot-out akin to the style of the Football League Cup, rather than scheduling replays as in the FA Cup. The first round is scheduled for October, with the intention that teams are unlikely to find themselves contesting the Conference League Cup at the same time as they play in the FA Cup and to a lesser extent, the FA Trophy, thus reducing the workload of even the more successful teams."

The format of the shield is accurate. I have even loosely included the geographical divide in the early rounds. I also plan to add the FA Cup as close to the actual format as possible.

Thanks for getting the collar ids, that has saved me alot of time.

Thanks for finding the rest of the collar ids. They have now all been set. The Setanta Shield now works fine. I only need to finish a few more things then I can release the test version.

I am having a problem with the FA Cup. CM will only allow a maximum 32 ties (64 teams) in a round and the first round has 40 ties (80 teams). Any ideas?

Damn! The guys who are working on Zimbabwe Premier league are lucky ones!

Alright, how many qualification rounds will it allow?

Well, it's far from perfect. The realism is sacrificed for playability .
The bottom two from the Conference National, Leagues 2,1 and the Championship will be punished. They will not participate in the competition. You can figure out the rest.

If you need less rounds (ie to find space for the FA Trophy) the first qualifying round will look like this:

I really hope you can improve it or make smth. better.

Good news - I found a way! I was able to split the 1st round ties between two rounds. This means it is still possible to impliment the tournament as close as possible to the actual structure (north and south teams have to enter 1 or 2 rounds later then they normally would since there are no lower level sides). I have already implimented this and it appears to work. I will include it in the beta version. Thanks for trying to find a solution anyway.
