Broadband and/or Dial-up modem for PS2

I know there is going to be online gaming for ps2, but can someone tell if it's only going to work with Broadband or can we use dial-up modem too.
I read alot of previews, interviews, and read every single thread in this forum, but I just can't find the answer. In some interviews I read there is going to be for Broadband and Dial-up modem, and in other previews I read they only mention Broadband.
Can someone answer if there is going to be for Dial-up modem Please. Thanks.

the adaptor supports both... but some games will only support broadband.. I am pretty sure fifa will work with both.. although modem will be a bitch because it lags like a mofo

according to sony, dialup won't be supported for online ps2............ in australia at least

it depends on the money you're willing to spend. i've got cable atm, which is faster than adsl, but is more expensive.

for cable, contact either telstra or optus. if you have cable tv at either, go for them as it uses the same cable. but if you don't have cable tv, go for optus as you don't have to pay if u go over the download limit

for adsl, there are a lot of service providers offering it.... telstra, ihug, primus etc... i suggest you shop around...... they got adds in the papers alot (esp. in "Icon" in the saturday herald)..... and you could look around at harvey norman, but i think they are telstra only or something ...............



for ps2, the broadband adapter hasn't been released, but sony are saying a "spring" release..... which means late september from what i've heard.

the connection sounds cool, but what would it allow us to do??

P.S isnt the Optus tv cable and internet cable the same cable line (literally)?So, if someone ahs optus tv, they could use that cable with the PS2 connection

I dont know mate because i dont know that much about it myself. When it is more common for online PS2 playing there will be a thread about it.

I have a question about playing online fifa 2004 in PS2.Im going to buy the PS2, so anyone know if there would be a tournament of fifa PS2?I mean, the tournament would be in the internet, but the gems would be on the PS2.Anyone knows how much it costs that system or i dont know what it is to play fifa 2004 in PS2?

I dont know how much a PS2 would be where you are from but generally they are priced around a few hundred nicker.
