In Manager Mode, how active can you be in the tranfer market without getting in trouble with the board? I'm assuming if I overspend I'm going to get fired. Just wondering if there's a target number for a budget that you don't want to drop below.

I'm in my second season with Liverpool and the transfer market is coming up and my budget is somewhere around $60 million, I want to pick up a few good players but I don't want to spend $20 million and get my budget down to $40 million and then get fired.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

As active as you like as long as you don't have any board expectations related to budgets or transfers.

I would be more leery of spending money I didn't have (just like in real life). The OP was worrying about spending money that he already had in the bank. I would think that buying players with money that the club doesn't have would upset the board enough to get you fired, but I've never tried it myself since I've always found transfers to be an expensive extravagance (I play as Wycombe and have very little money spare)
