Voltaic Borusse said:It's been pretty even-steven throughout the past 3 years. A win is vital, though. Normally, a draw would be sufficient enough for me given Schalke's super strength, but we drew last week, and we're at home this time around.

[12.08.] No other Bundesliga match has had more spectators in history: more than 50,000 spectators on average witnessed 66 derbies between BVB and Schalke 04. Around 300 reporters will be present in Westfalen Stadium - regularly this amount is seen at important Champions League games only. Everybody is keen on the big clash.

Question tag: Nuri Sahin
Initials: BVB performed well during their draw in Wolfsburg, Schalke advanced more and more versus Kaiserslautern, but victory was not gained before the last minutes.
Personnel: Sahin (thigh sprain) and Kehl (not fit yet after an ankle surgery) still bear a question tag while Kehl is foreseen to remain seated on the bank only. Sahin´s assignment will not be decided before tomorrow afternoon. The other talents Caliskan (zygomatic hernia) and Tyrala (cruciate) are missing due to their injuries. Schalke misses Lincoln (barred due to spitting at Thomas Hitzlsperger during League Cup final), Pander (cruciate) and Kläsener (ankle) while Krstajic (flu) and Asamoah (muscle problems) are deemed to play.
Balance: Slight advantage to Dortmund: BVB won 25 out of 66 Bundesliga matches against their main rival. 20 draws, 21 losses.

Will S 04 tumble again?
Statistics: The last clash was won by BVB after 12 fruitless attempts before while the last win at home is nearly seven years ago. 13 of the last 25 duels ended up in a draw. No match was lost whenever Dortmund had scored the first goal (13 wins, two draws)..
Historical result: Borussia smashed the Knaves by an incredible 7-0 victory on February 26th, 1966. A 30,000 crowd witnessed goals by Held (2), Schmidt (2), Sturm, Kurrat and Emmerich.
Attendance: Due to rebuilding for World Cup 2006, Westfalen Stadium´s capacity has decreased down to 81,264 - tomorrow it will be completely sold out.
Referee: Herbert Fandel will be assisted by Mike Pickel and Markus Scheibel under supervision of Heiner Müller
