I read the thread with everyone's roster in Manager Mode, and was wondering how you guys did that. I have PS2 and it's impossible to buy a player. I've gone after Cech, Sergio Ramos, Essien, Casillas, Robben, and others. I bid about 15 million over the value and can't get them. For Cech and Sergio Ramos I bid 28 million each. I play with Man United. It seems that the scale of how close you are to buying them is right before the 'bought zone' and it won't move. Now, all of these players are not on the Transfer Market but I still went for them, does that have anything to do with it? I have 56mill in the bank. Any help is welcome.

How do you search for a particlar player and offer a price? I thought you can only buy players from the transfer market? Talking about fifa 08 by the way...

In FiFA 08 you can bid on a player not on the transfer list,
but it must be done during the Transfer season.
At the bottom-right of the screen there's an option to search by name,
just type in part of their last name and a list of possible matches will
show up, pick the one you want and place a bid.

I not exactly sure why you couldn't get all those players,
but some of those you tried to buy are from Rival clubs
and you will find next to impossible to buy them.

Have you looked at the Negotiation History to find out why not?? It could be the wages you are offering to the player that is the sticking point, not the bid to the team. Don't miss the fact that there is a secondary page on the negotiation history screen (not sure which key(s) to use because I'm a PC gamer, but on my gamepad it is the bottom shoulder buttons) which shows you how close you are to signing the player.

Yea it (the scale of how close you are to buying them) is stuck on the same spot, for every player. How is Arsenal a rival but not Chelsea. What's weird is when I bid for Sergio Ramos it says give them more money, but when I go for Robben it says they do not hve enough players.

If you have 56 mil you're better off upgrading your scout. also, i find that it is easier to sign players when your manager presige is higher.

pretty much impossible to go for, unless chelsea accepts a player(s)

Robben plays for Madrid. All my staff are at 10 except for stadium. Any help is still welcome. Does the difficulty I play on matter?

I bought David Villa from Valencia. (I'm @ Madrid so Valencia is my rival)
tbh, I spent 52.5m€:D because I have zillions of dollars(H)
