face it, i bought my Playstation 2 two years back only to play PES.

today i got the PC version for a laughable 29 Euro, almost half the price of the PS2 version. and it's editable. and it's high-res. and it will have loads of patches.

what you think: are there any reasons to keep the PS2 version? and the PS2? don't see one.

maybe the reason for a ps2 version is because the computer version doesn't run well for most people. Full and demo

I also bought my PS2 purely so I could play PES and WE on it. I haven't used it for any otehr games but I find PS2 games dreadful. They are usually shallow arcadey games made for todays Attention Deficit Disorder kids. There are a couple good games but they're also on pc and far better for it.

I'll hold onto my ps2 though because I expect all new versions of PES and WE to come out first for it, plus it's worth Carlos-sh*t anyway :D

which ones you got (this is off topic, of course)?

the only other two games i kept are GT3 and MOHFL... i sold both GTA3 and GTAVC, all the FIFA games, all the F1 Racers (man, i had all of them and they all were crap).. even sold PES1 and PES2 when it was about time...

the only reason to maybe keep the thing is the upcomming Gran Turismo 4...then again: still no damage model...

Easy - my I don't play my PC on big F-Off TV, or whilst sat/lounging on a comfy sofa - or with 3 mates at once.

good point there...

plus no crashes (mostly)... no having to fiddle around with graphic cards, resolutions, drivers and windows in general...

guess i'll stick with it after all..

yeah but for those with old ps2 pes 3 don't play. And u can connect ur pc with ur tv. And if u have a good pc it will be a big mistake to play the ps2 version.

Same, bought my PS2 solely for PES1. Later had it modded so it could play imported WE.
Have rented a truckload, but for me GTA3 and ICO have been the only other games worth buying.

I'd hold onto your PS2 m8, judging by the amount of people d/loading the game(one tracker is showing at least 2000 at the mo, and has been for the past few days) the only way to play PES4 may be on PS2 (:/)

Don't even think of buying it, it's crap to say the least.
I bought Top Spin on Xbox the other day, now that's a proper tennis game, boy its realistic!

I got my PS2 exclusively for PES, and now I'm thinking of selling it and getting a new video card, cause I already got an xbox which is infinitely better and I don't even own any Ps2 games apart from PES, but I think i'll keep it in case there's not a PC version for PES4.

I got rid of mine as soon as I heard PES3 was being ported to the PC. With all the pirates downloading PES3....its very doubtful that we'll see PES4 on the PC.:kader: No biggie since KONAMI is plannig to bring the PES/WE series to the XBOX and XBOX Live:rockman:

As far as I'm aware Konami have an exclusive deal with Sony that means PES/WE is PS2 only well into the PS3...

Not true, nothing signed as the game cube version confirmed. There's interview with the team on www.computerandvideogames.com which basically says they wanna do an xbox with proper online play due to the organised nature of xbox live service compared to teh mess that is the ps2 online.
