Yahoo quotes LancePress (Brazilian sports news agency) to say that Cafu may have to undergo surgery on his right knee and that may cause him trouble for WC preparation. As I heard nothing about that before, could someone give some info on that? Anyway, he was not selected for Reggina-Milan match on Sunday.

I seen Cicinho in the NT for Brazil in the Confed Cup he wasn't that good but so far playing for RM he has been playing very well. Just think experience in the WC may comeback and bite Cicinho but hey thats my opinion

I think Cafu still deserves a place on the team, but not starting. His physical condition is falling heavily, and Cicinho is on great form. Cafu isnt a great defender and he cant keep up with the faster wingers nowadays, he's a legend but i dont know. Cicinho isnt that great of a defender aswell, but he can get over things using his pace.

From the italian sites I was reading, Cafu is going to be out around a month, so it doesn't seem like he will miss the World Cup.

I second Socrates, they would be crazy not to go with Dani Alves as a backup. He did so well for them on the younger Brasil squads.

cafu should be 1st choice..cicinho is class, dani alves too(although cicinho is better), but cafu just has that something that drives brazil..
