Can Anyone Tell Me What This Means !


PES6 keeps freezing and the the screen goes black and the monitor reboots ( or it goes black and the reboot starts and stops and I have to press the reboot button).

Now I had it happen with my loaded game, I then tried a rollback on the ATI driver but it still happened. I took out the ATI-CCC and it still happened, so I put it back..

Bottom line, I unistalled the game and I took out the Konami file with regedit and once clean I reinstalled the PES6 without the kit/stadium server or updated sound and option files. Once installed I played it as was out of the box, after 6mins of a game the game froze and the screen went blank I could still hear the sound as before, but after about 20 seconds the game started up again, but at the same time there was a flicker of something in the background.

I stopped the game and came out of PES altogether, and in a large box was this Legend...

VPU Recover has reset your graphics accelerator as it was no longer responding to graphics driver commands.

What I need to know it what that means in plain english, bad driver(s) the ATI CCC is fecked ? even though I installed a hotfix? from ATI last night ..


As for as I've seen my other games play, SH4, a horse racing game, F1 game , Lock On a flight sim and a couple of others...


I mean this was the base PES6 game no addons, why does the card or drivers struggle with this game ??

Could be your card itself that isn't working properly anymore ( or overheating ) but my first thought is faulty memory...

I dont know how much memory u have but if you have like 2 strips maybe take 1 out and try to play. If there arent any problems try the other strip.

I had random reboots before while playing and thought that it was my vid card but instead one of my memory strips was a bit loose in its socket and was fried a little....

I had exactly the same problem so I have 1 GB RAM just laying on my desk

thanks guys but after all my messing about with drivers and uninstalling and all the rest, I got a MS error page about a video error after my last crash and it have a hint to turned my hardware acceleration down a tad and fingers crossed it seemed to work. I just play a full game (15mins) plus extra time and pens, no crash! Not saying that its a defo fix but I can hope and that game has given me it ..

The card was new and played all my other games well with out any problems, games like Silent Hunter 3 and 4 and flight sim Lock On and if they play well and didn't need the hardware acceleration turned down then I can't see why PES6 need it ..

black screen and flicker

I have exactly the same problem, the screen goes black and there is a horixontal flicker accorss the middle of the screen at all times during gameplay. Could you tell if your solution worked and the steps you used to do it as I was a little unsure of what you meant.
