Can someone explain the penalty?

Because I didn't see it. There was no penalty. The player dove and you can see it clearly on replay. Australia made a great game, Uruguay looked tired all thru the second half, but Uruguay didn't deserve to lose the way it did. FIFA's Economical interests were made clear on that decision.

Also, someone tell me, didn't Schwarzer land into the goal after Recoba smacked the ball from nearly midfield? Because I just watched the play 4 times and I saw him land in.

I must admit the penalty was a little soft, but it was there, I think?

You could see a little bit of a push in the back as Agostino was going into goal, if the contact wasn't there it would still most certainly have been a goal anyway.

And one more thing, Schwarzer did land in the goals but the ball was still in the field of play therefore that fabulous shot from Recoba (Sherper) wasn't a goal.

Honestly i'm net being bias.

Don't get me wrong. Australia played 10 times better than Uruguay and deserved the win, just not by a non-existing penalty. If Uruguay had to lose I'd of rather seen a goal by Kewell or Viduka.

Mate, it was a blatant push, and to be quite honest, I thought he deserved a yellow for it being the last in the line!

Anyway, it's 1-0 Australia now - 1 away goal will make it hard for Uruguay to get through!

Macho, cuando ves tantos partidos como yo, te transformas en realista. Uruguay no tuvo nada. Recoba metio, pero nadie lo acompano. Magallanes, fue una mamorta, se tropezaba hasta con las sombras. Cheva, pobre, corrio como loco, pero nunca llego. Que queres que te diga. Soy Uruguayo, pero mientras Casal siga diciendo quien juega y quien no, Uruguay no llega a ningun lado.

Yes. I did. Because I can't see Uruguay winning. Can you see Regueiro or Chevanton scoring 2 goals? I can't... if you tell me Pua has called up Abreu and Forlan, hell, I'll take the next available flight back to Uruguay and join the crowd. I'm realistic, Australia is going to play defensive the whole match and they have a hell of a defense. I just can't see Uruguay win. Sure, I want them to win. But do I think they'll win? I think i've made my points clear.

And yes, I am a fan of Nacional.

WTF, i'm watching cnn's world sports, they talked about the champion's league, manchester, munich, etcc.... the golden ball and so on...but no word on today's world cup match...WTF!!! they're stupid or something ! geez
