Can someone give me a few tips?

Ok guys - i posted not long ago saying how much i loved the change from Fifa to PES but i wanted to get a few tips to make me a better player, so if anyone can answer the questions below i would appreciate it:

1. Crossing/Headers: Ok so to cross I am holding the Left Trigger and pressing B, the crosses are not bad but I simply can't get a good head on the ball. I either don't make contact at all and the defense wins the header or I head it well over the bar in a lob type fashion even though I am pressing X. Headers in general play are ok just not near the opposition goal.

2. Moving the ball up field: Ok so i guess one thing i am missing in my conversion to PES is the 'Player Run' buttone ie. the left trigger in Fifa. Is it at all possible to do this in PES? It would make through balls a lot more effective for me. Any other tips for moving the ball downfield on attack?

3. Shooting: Ok just a quick one on where i should be aiming to get the power bar when i am shooting? I can't really score from outside the box - they whiz over the bar in general. Also in one on one with the keeper i usually hit it into him. I guess its just a matter of working on my aim but any tips would be good.

4. Corners and free kicks: Ok so corners - all i try and do is press B to cross it into the centre but as above i can't get a good header on it... any tips would be good. Also free kicks are troubling me, if i want to shoot all i do is press X as usual... dunno how to try anything else? Also as above dunno where i should be aiming the ball or where to get the power bar.

5. Master League: Playing thru a master league and i find it all a bit confusing. I assume i start in the bottome league and have to work my way up but i just won the first league and in the rankings i'm still like 67 or somethin. How do i move up that? Also after each game i dont get many bonus points - i get the 800 base points but not often do i get bonus points. Basically i just keep playing game after game...so any tips here would be great.

Thats it for now. Enjoying my PES experience so much so any tips would be awesome. Just saw the best thing - the team i was playing were down 2-0 and they scored in the 85th minute and as soon as the guy scored he ran into the goal to pick up the ball and sprint back to the half way line - i love little touches like that!!

i would be able to do so if u translated to PC or PS2.

TO get bonus you need to score goals etc. On master league.

Re: Can someone give me a few tips?

1. Crossing/Headers: With this one its just a case of keep trying, get as many crosses in as possible, and try and get your best man, (tallest, good stats) on the ball. Practise makes perfect, just keep at it :) Also, if you press square twice, it crosses it along the floor, just another tip :)

2. Moving the ball up field: I just pass about, look for space. I find my players run on their own into space, whether this is down to high teamwork, or stats, I dont know. Don't try and be too clever everytime and you'll get it eventually.

3. Shooting: You have to be in the right place, right time to score from outside the box, its genreally very hard to score, but it can be done. I've scored from the half way line three times, about five 40 yarders. Again, is down to skill, luck, and judgement. If you get the ball quickly, off a rebound or something, then just have a pop if its sat up nicely to be hit. You'll be suprised :) Dont press up when shooting, because it will just go straight at the keeper.

Get your player at a good angle, and you'll find you often hit the back of the net.

4. Corners and free kicks: For me with corners, I hit it in and hold up, and one of the arrow keys(if your playing on pc, it wont matter to you ;)), this will bend it up then down, often resulting in me getting headers on it.

I aim for the penalty spot, or edge of the six yard box, it works :)

5. Master League: I'm in year 2016-17, still loving the game. Get promotion, and keep playing, simple as that, your rating will go up over a course of seasons + how well you do. Win league after league and you'll be top, winning Champions League/Cup helps too :)

Feel free to ask anymore questions :) I am here to help.

Well done.

You first of all told me to buy irony and lighten up. I was helping someone. In real life I'm alot different, very different infact to what you "think" I'm like on here, actually, so good that, I dont need to explain who/what I am. End this. I won't be replying to anyone more.

about the corners i prefer aiming for smth like 1st post for a goal or a header near the post. Like tsiartas does (e.x on game with chechz Rep with dellas goal) 85% success for me. I 've been training a lot in set pieces. Free kicks and Corners are my talent. Although i suck at penalties :(

I've been playing WE since last year when I purchased a PS2 solely for WE7:I. I've been playing WE8:I since it came out last week and just moved from 3 *'s to 4. I've manged to lose just 1 game out of about the 5 or 6 I've played, my best being 3 - 0. I'm not ready to try 5 *'s just yet, but here are some of my tips that will hopfully help you.

Note: Tips are for the PS2 version, but if you have an XBOX or the PC version, these all should still apply to you.

1. Crossing/Headers:

There are basically 3 types of crosses.

1) Slow and high in to the box.
2) Low and fast in to the box
3) Along the ground in to the box.

I've found it best to use option 2 (low and fast in to the box). This gives your players a much better chance at getting in to a better position than your opponent and a good chance at scoring also. (press the cross button twice to perform that move).

To head the ball, after you have crossed it, just hold down the shoot button and aim where you want it to go. It's basically random as to how accurate on target you are (even though you can aim, not always will the ball go in that direction). Button mashing doesn't seem to make any difference after the ball has been crossed (at least from what I have found), so just hold it down and you should have some more luck with it.

2. Moving The Ball Up Field:

This obviously depends on the level your playing at. The lower the level, the less passing you'll need to do and you could just about run the whole field without having to pass it, but on the higher levels, passing is essential and the key to winning.

You really don't need to worry to much about forcing a player to run as your team works really well to get in to good positions. I found that if you have the ball in defense for example, and you pass to someone on the wing, go for a bit of a run if you are in the space, then pass to the center and then again to the wing on the other side. Just about anywhere you are, your team moves with you, so you always have support.

If have you the ball in the center, you can try passing forward for a bit, but try passing it back again and then maybe try a through ball to the wings (there is always a loose player on the wings) and getting through balls to them gives you a nice chance to setup a goal.

One thing is NOT to panic when you lose the ball or have no one up forward to pass it to. If you lose the ball, (partically on the harder levels) RELAX and gain some composure. Don't go crazy and try to get the ball, a lot of the time they'll just pass it around in defense, then to the center and from their usually the wings and you'll screw yourself over. Stay back a bit and wait for the right moment, perhaps use the "pressure" button to force them to kick ball.

If you got the ball early upfield and have no one to pass it to, best bet would be to try and find open space and go backwards to a team mate who can pass it to someone else etc... Remember, possession is the key!

3. Shooting:

When shooting, unless your half way, your power meter only needs to be between no power and medium power (center). If your just outside the box or in the box and your power meter is halfway or over you'll kick it over the bar / kick it wide. Most of the time you don't need to shoot hard to get the ball on target. This also depends on your location on the field, but most of the time you'll be on target.

3a. One On One With The Keeper:

Ahhhh, everyone loves this situation, but a lot of us panic because we have about 5 different thoughts going through our minds in the short amount of time we get. There are several ways to beat the keeper (not all full proof however).

- When you are near the keeper, try a weak shot, (tap the shoot button just a fraction) and if you get lucky, the keeper will dive over the ball and it will trickle in to the net (much easier in 7, harder to pull off in 8).

- Try juking/faking out the keeper. Just before you get close to him, push shoot twice then the pass button once, all in quick succession. The keeper will drive and your player will automatically run around the keeper in the opposite direction, leaving you an open net.

- Some people use the spin move to get by the keeper (rotate the right control stick in a circle).

- If you see the keeper coming out off his line, chip the ball over his head (hold L1, not sure what that button is on the XBOX, it's, either your left trigger or the white button I would think), and while holding it down, push the button you use to cross the ball, but not too much!

- You can also try running out wide a little bit to force the keeper to come out a bit, then before you get to close, push shoot a little bit and you might be able to get the ball to trickle past him.

4. Corners And Free Kicks:

- I aim the ball just forward of the center of the box; it's away from the keeper and you'll have some players there to get a head on to it. Try pressing the cross button twice for a low powered cross. Not always will this work obviously, if it did, you would win all arial battles and the game would get boring very quickly, but this works pretty well overall.

As for free kicks, I usually don't try anything fancy, just aim about forward of the center of the box and try to get a header on it. If you are really close, try and through ball your free kick, usually someone will get on the end of it and your getting a scoring chance.

5. Master League:

I haven't messed with this yet!

Hope this helps you, good luck mate!

Good tips...

That's the thing with W11. It is not easy to pick up and play. There is so much you can master/learn. That's good though. I was really frustrated the 1st day, now (after 4-6 hours) I am starting to really love the gameplay. Hey that move where the player lets the ball just go under his legs an into another player is just awesome.
I think the more I play the game the more I will like it.
Now, I'm not happy with the in-game graphics (for XBOX). The cinmematics are sweet though. And being able to choose your own celebrations is a nice little gift from Konami.
I have probably discovered only 5% of the game... :clapwap:

So many moves to learn :Carlos*o: so little time...

a good tactic on freekicks is to have the one guy pass it (hold down R button) then one time the pass (you can use more than usual power on one timers) and blast it past the wall.

corners are a crapshoot for me. i just try and aim for the middle of the box and button mash the shoot button. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt.
