"The Rant," a wildly popular ad for Molson Canadian, featured our man Joe and a pastiche of stale stereotypes. No matter. Joe yapped his way toward a building crescendo, igniting a wave of national pride and triggering discussions on everything from anti-Americanism to what it means to be Canadian.
While Canadian beer ads are embracing a retro T&A sensibility, U.S. execs — suddenly skittish and worried about a government and public backlash in this post Nipplegate-era — are cranking down the sex and operating with caution that, by past standards, seems prudish. <--- Americans censoring things not that much a problem
