Can't play a DVD

I am in England and I can't play a DVD on my DVD player because it says check regional code or something. Now since I don't have a clue about that I thought I would try to play it on the PC. That also doesn't work. Is there some way I can make it play on the PC?

Where did you buy the DVD? DVD's set to zone 1 (USA + Canada) won't work in zone 2 (Europe) players... there are codes to change the DVD player zone, try googling for your player or your PC DVD player, but first try to find the zone for the DVD itself...

No it won't work unless you have a universal dvd player. The dvd players you've tried it on are region 2 ones, and the dvd you used is from another region.

these are the region code

REGION 1 -- USA, Canada
REGION 2 -- Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East, Greenland
REGION 3 -- S.Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Parts of South East Asia
REGION 4 -- Australia, New Zealand, Latin America (including Mexico)
REGION 5 -- Eastern Europe, Russia, India, Africa
REGION 6 -- China
REGION 7 -- Reserved for Unspecified Special Use
REGION 8 -- Resevered for Cruise Ships, Airlines, etc...
REGION 0 or REGION ALL -- Discs are uncoded and can be played Worldwide, however, PAL discs must be played in a PAL-compatible unit and NTSC discs must be played in an NTSC-compatible unit.

Download anyDvd , it allows Dvds from any region to be played on your PC it also removes the copy protection from Dvds and Cds

Yeah anyDVD works really well. Or if you have a modded console like the PS2 or Xbox which have chips that also unlocks the region coding, you can also play it there.
