Careers Damaged After EA Game Update !

After over 100 hours of game play everthing in Fifa 14 was great up until last night when I logged onto origin as usual and it did a game update automatically.
Now all my 3 careers are saying "MIRRdl appeares to be damage and cannot be used" and only gives me the option to delete it.
this is the same for MCFC and Juventus career which means that all those hours of gameplay are lost if I have to start all my careers again.
Is anyone else having this problem and more importantly does anyone know how to fix it.

If the db is edited or changed, you cannot load your old career saves. The solution is to turn off auto-update, and to always keep backup copies of all your game files, including career save files and the currrent db you are using for your career. Provided you have a copy of the original db you used to start your career, you can always load and use your current career save files.

After the update I dont have any error with Career Mode. Perhaps you edited something.

Thanks Guys,

I didn't have any problems on previous updates to the games just this last one...
and I guess this update must have changed the Db
I guess I'll have to start all my careers again but my concern is I get another 100 hours of gameplay 3/4 through the seasons and WHAM... EA sports does another update ..

I will keep backups in future.
thre must be another way though some way to edit the careers files themselves!!

BTW how do you turn off the auto updates.. I'm guessing they only update anything to do with the main programs not the squads etc..

Its under your setting in Origin menu.

BTW you might want to search emmersion mod thread for "default DB" version, becuase it may have the DB you were using from initial DB release pre patch, you can then put that in your game folder - regen and carry on with careers:

See ( 0.0.8 beta its based and using default pre patch DB ) and if you used moddingway try the moddingway one after (im guessing not sure if you did anyway). So dont delete your careers just yet! Also you would have to stay offline and not update, so duplicate your game folder and swap them when offline and online.

Also move out "patch.bin" & "patch.bh" or rename them to something else so game wont see them ( it contains its own DB ) then put that mod db into place and then regen and then test.
