Meh, Gerrard is mainly hype in my view. Everyone goes on about him being a one man team, but thats because he tries to be. If he played for Real, other players would soon complain about and Gerrard would be dropped.

I didn't Gerrard was all hype, I said the majority of his reputation is hype. The first game of the season proves my other point, the guys got a team work of a 5 year who wants to be the next Ronaldo. He gets his head down, runs, dribbles past a few and then shoots whether or not its a good time to, many more goals would be scored if he got into the postion and then passed it off to another player in a better postion

I daresay CSKA Moscow isn't one of the best teams in Europe. You guys got lucky to scrape that victory against a team who were dominated half the game in the UEFA Cup Final against Sporting Lisbon, who aren't even the best of Portugal. I do think that against a team like Chelsea, Juventus, AC Milan, or Barcelona, you guys would have been hammered if you played how you played today.

Your offense was incredibly dull and unoriginal, and your "tactics" for the first 80 minutes of the game would only work against a team of midgets. Every time Pool had the ball in Moscow's half, they would play it out to the perimeter of the box and then 4-5 Pool players would just jog into the area and set up camp, and once in a while someone would send in a decent service, and then they'd waste the opportunity, or the keeper would knock it clear. No one wanted to keep the ball on the ground, or play the simple ball, and that was documented when NO ONE would check to the ball. Everyone just ran away from it and hoped for a long ball or a good cross that they could win with a defender on their back, and it just wasn't happening.

If I were your team, I'd thank Cisse's left arm, because without that, you would have lost.

Liverpool got lucky. Very...very...lucky...saw those counter attacks from Daniel Carvalho - Vagner Love? They only needed 2 of them to score two goals against Sporting...the rest was defending. You got very lucky that Vagner Love and Daniel Carvalho were somehow not inspired for today...if they were...Liverpool wouldn't win it, I am sure of that. And then that goal...if Cisse didn't have the left hand we wouldn't score am i right?

However, it good to see at least once good football win over anti-football...Portugal - Greece...Sporting - CSKA...were games where the anti-football won...now...Liverpool wins. I really wanted them to. They got lucky...but lucky had Greece and CSKA. At least let good football have luck!!!
