CC package PKG file format !!!

woooohoooo !!!!

The PKG format is standard ZIP! Rename the PKG file into *.ZIP and unpack it. You'll get a standard XML file! I hope that somebody will be able to resolve the format fully so we can make our own editor, much better than CC, but compatible with the PKG file format.

CC cannot satisfy our needs, since we cannot change player's jersey # and we cannot set team management (starting lineups, substitutes, formations, freekick takers,...)

you can do management in the game..

OK, but when I create a package with a new league (16 teams) and upload it to my webpage, everyone who downloads the package has to set the team lineups for himself. I need to save all this info plus player jersey numbers into the package. Doing this outside the CC degrades the CC idea.

it depends where you have saved it ;)

I studied the XML data, and found that boot type, jersey #, player position, status (starter/subs/reserve), kick taker status are all stored in the file, but the CC sets these variables to zero. So maybe EA just forgot to add the proper fields to the CC where we could fill in the info. I hope they will rellease an updated CC soon.

well, I got it! I have found a free and simple to use XML editor - download - 335 KB, you can open/edit/save the data.xml file from the CC package, then you have to repack the XML into the package (still renamed to ZIP) and then rename the ZIP back to PKG.

voilla, IT WORKS !!!
so now we can change the boot type, player jersey # and many more. The only thing we need is to resolve what variable values belong to each boot type etc. :D

It's great. I hope that someone (Chau, FFT,...) can soon make an editor compatible with the PKG format. This year it should be much easier than in the last years since the PGK (zipped XML in fact) format is known.

and did you also try to edit the player's jersey nubers (the "PlayerNumber" variable)? Does it work? I cannot test it because I don't have the full game. I just started making the packages :)))

do you have a better XML editor than the Microsoft XML notepad??? What are your advices?

He Lukas-You´r the coolest Man on Planet :D
Thanks for your Work, I try your Tip later.
But first I have a Question
Can you maybe tell me how can I make my own Team on CC?
I try this and create many Players and place there in my own Team.
My Team are still standing under"Creatin Centre-Teams" now I go to"Pack install" and the CC export my Files to the Game(I hope)
But when I start Fifa 2003 and looking for my Team in Fifa Centre Team" there are not inside :f***:
Where is the Error ?

Lukas,

I have not tried this, but I think it should work. To solve the problem you mentioned there, why don't you create the package, install it to your copy of FIFA 2003, then go into FIFA 2003, edit the starting line-up and team management, go back into the CC and then save the package. Would this work? Anyone let me know.

Maybe this helps:
Go to fifa creation creation folder and open with microsoft access the file "Dev_all_data" this file have a lot of information about teams, players and leagues you even can changue what ball you want to your team (nike,fevernova......)

I hope this helps(H)

Editing the XML-file has one great advantage above editing "Dev_all_data", you can make versions for each language.
The Creation Centre can only load files wich are made with the same language version. If you make a UK-English version of the pkg and play FIFA 2003 with the Dutch language you lose the names of competions and teams in the game. Very frustrating.

How to make a CC-file for the whole world:
- Make your pkg in UK-english.
- Open the xml and go to package/header/language
- Change the language in Dutch
- Save the xml
- Add the xml to a zip with the language in the name
- Do this for all languages
- Make the pkg's and publish them all

And then everybody can use your pkg's, independent of language.
