CEP gameplay v 1.0 - New field size

I've been finally able to pack and up the new <b>CEP gameplay</b>, based on the radical changement of field size. This gameplay starts from the analysis of the game dynamics in Fifa 2006, inspired by an idea of <b>Fifaccitiu</b>: the main reason that leads an expert fifa2006 player to easily dominate the CPU even at the hardest skill levels is based on the wrong proportions of the field compared to players size and to the speed of their movements generated by the Fifa engine. I've found too easy to reach the opponent forwarder in his run to the goal box, and it's absolutely impossible for a player on the Fifa 2006 field to receive ball and organize an attacking action without the possibility for the defence to catch him: this is due to the field dimension, too big, and to the lackness of acceleration by players.

As it's impossible to change the overall acceleration of the players (what is possible to edit through the inis is the ball speed!) Fifaccitiu suggested me to try playing with <b>reduced field size</b>: the result is a much more entertaining game, in which the CPU is much more able to defend properly and, most important, to reach goal box and create attacking actions: the number of shots at goals increased sensibly and the result is that it's always hard to play against an higher rated team. The main problem of this experiment was the position of the players on free kicks and corners: now, with the help of the last utility by <a href=http://www.fifa-mra.com/FifaMaster/ target="_blank"><b>Rinaldo</b></a>, this problem can be resolved and so here is the first version of the <b>CEP gameplay</b>, based on the resizing of the field. The full technical theory behind this gameplay can be found <a href=http://www.soccergaming.tv/showpost.php?p=2098660&postcount=1 target="_blank"><b>here</b></a> on soccergaming forums.

This gameplay is realized to be compatible with <a href=http://www.fifa-mra.com/CEP/ target="_blank"><b>CEP patch</b></a> and <b>has not been tested without this expansion</b>. Together with the gameplay exe that changes the field size and all the freekicks (and the ini settings adapted for the new field size) you will find another exe that simply revert the field to the original EA size. If you find the game already hard and difficult enough then I suggest to don't install this gameplay, as it's realized to make the game harder. Personally I've found the game much better with these modifications, almost revolutioned, this is why I want to share it for all the CEP users. Important Note: </b>game settings should be setted at 4 minutes and Slow speed</b>; remember to <b>fatbhbuilder</b> your big files after gameplay installation as it replaces two big archives.

Sorry for this noob qustion?...What is the Revert version mean and does it work together with NK Gameplay patch?

No, this gameplay is not related to NK, it's an alternative one, but if you want to go back to a NK gameplay you have to apply the revert patch that will resize the field to its original dimension.

You'll be able to install over any precedent gp. Just if/when you want to go back to another gameplay you'll have to apply the revert first.

Consider that I've not too much time to spend on gameplay and ai settings (due to the work on CEP), so the main modification is the new field: a good tuning of the ai settings and the difficulty settings can lead to better results, but I'm sure it's enterteinaing since now.

Indeed, some of the values are similar to V6, especially in the CPU difficulty settings and player to ball avoidance which should offer some extra space. But Ockham with a smaller pitch, that scale for player to ball avoidance may see some players’ run off the field! The gameplay feels more attacking based, although I did have plenty of chances, the CPU didn't attack as much as I thought they would, but when they came forward it felt threatening. The actual ball physics were fine, a little quick in places, but realistic. I enjoyed playing it, especially the pace on the gameplay. It felt more end-to-end.

I think the main issue is exploiting space. This update almost took away the 'passing game' which is so vital to football. On the other hand the pitch was smaller so I could get to the CPU keeper quicker. I thought it was enjoyable to have this as obviously it’s the first time I’ve played an update that has done this to the field!

For a first try this is good Ockham and will certainly have a play on future versions. It can only get better from here!

Just in case anyone wonders I played on Legendary for a 16 min game, England (me) VS Brazil. I won the game 2-0 :) But this wasn't a boring game. So I suggest everyone download it and give it a try. And be fair on feedback! :ewan:

As you noticed the suggested settings are: 4 minutes, game Slow: playing at 16 minutes completely changes even the approach of the CPU to the game while slowness is vital to keep the importance of passing and changing the game from one side of the field to the other.

The only relation the gameplay has is that it's an edited version of my V6.

Well NK, you did so many release of your gameplay in a couple of months that you used almost every combination of difficulty and ai settings: any attempt to create a new gameplay must have at least one of the many combinations you used. Anyway the main goal of this gameplay, as mentioned in the first post, is to change the Fifa field.

I definately liked the reduced field size, but I just couldnt stomach the fast gameplay and ball physics.

I like the idea..and can feel the different..but when it comes to the graphic..it looks ugly in the stadiums..now that there are so long to the adboards and seats and stuff..if you get what i mean..

I reckon the change in field size is excellent. I've tried it with several different gameplay updates (with the field size adjusted accordingly in the ai.ini file) and it definitely makes a difference. As I have already said, I'm a noob to this game, but I like to try mods for sports games. So far this is the most significant mod I've come across. It doesn't rely on making the game impossible, although that really depends on the ini.big you use ...NK :p. It seems to me that it makes the CPU's counterattacks more effective and the CPU does actually shoot from further out.

The most significant update to the gameplay so far was not anything to do with you. Deal with it!!!! (6)
