I've noticed a number of people have complained of problems editing with CGFE. I'm writing this so I can just quick-link it next time someone has a question.
NaFer and others have specifically stated NOT TO USE CGFE TO EDIT THE DB TABLES. The CGFE tools that rinaldo created are buggy. If you use them, you risk corrupting your game files. Some edits will work, and some will not. But once your files are corrupted, there is no fix. And if you have not been saving your edits as you go, you will have to start all over with a new db.
Also, be aware that just because you can't see any immediate problems in your db, doesn't mean it isn't corrupted. I edited one player's name. I loaded the db and even played a couple of games. It was two days later that I noticed many of the players names were all messed up.
If you are exporting/importing graphics, you shouldn't have a problem using CGFE. But if you are editing db table values such as players, team lineups, formations etc, use the DB Master/Excel method to edit. The DB Master/Excel method is the only method that is 100% foolproof and safe, it works every time and will never corrupt your game files.
