I think if you just forget about the experience and focus on potential talent, Ajax is about equally strong. Arsenal has Bergkamp, Ajax has van der Vaart, who is already stronger than Bergkamp was on that age. Arsenal has Vierra, Ajax has Chivu, who has already offers from Real Madrid to replace Hierro when he is not good enough anymore.
I can go on and on, but the main difference is that the rich Arsenal simply buys experienced arrived players and Ajax educates future experienced and arrived players. Just think about the Arsenal players Kanu and Bergkamp......
So, a little more respect should be right for the former four times European champoins... (how many times Arsenal were European champions? zero?? ).

yeah ajax educates and everyone comes in and takes what you have. No one has said arsenal will beat ajax 5- 0 and we know they are not PSV(they just have more flair than psv do) and the statements along that line by you and silencer are quite funny b'cos you seem to assume that arsenal are the only team in the group we might beat you guys in both legs and it could be the other way round. This is no disrespect in any way. I know how good Bergkamp is, believe me! The point is: You obviously have no idea how good van der Vaart is on the age of 19. And I compared him with Bergkamp on that age of 19 I did not compare him with the current Bergkamp. Just read it back!

At the age of 19 means hes promising not proven,and i do know how good he is i watch eurosport every bloddy week,my point was he may not fulfill his potential i can think of several players who everyone thought was the next big thing and and didnt live up to expectation.

The character of van der Vaart is such ideal for a pro that I have no doubt he will be better and better. You know, the Holland national team is not a bad team, but still he will play on wednesday against Germany, dispite his young age. He also came in against Belarus in the qualifiers for Portugal 2004, and he made a big impact, until he collided with a defender, causing him a knee-injury. That injury prowness is the only thing which can stop him becoming a superstar.
