I agree that man U defense is screwed but Man U conceded 37 goals last season, Chelsea 32. Almost the same. But this year Terry is 1 year older (will be 35) and Cahill is not going to get better. Man U has 3 young defenders who will get better. I think Chelsea is as fucked as Man U. Both need reinforcements. City is going to buy Otamendi to put Mangala, whom they bought for 40 million euros warm the bench. Fucking ****s.

They could have kept Nastasic. Nastasic and Demichelis make a pretty good backup. There is no point of having 3 worldclass defenders. This is a waste of talent because 1 ends up on the bench.

If you are talking about Di Maria being an expensive backup, this is a totally different situatuon. You are smarter than that. Di Maria did not end up on the bench because Man U bought 2 more 40 million pounds wingers. He got on the bench because of extremely poor form. It is hard to believe but Young, no matter how mediocre he is was more productive than him in the last month or 2 of last season.

Nastasic was a highly rated young player who was a regular at first but didn't get playing time later on and was injury prone. He just got a serious injury, again at Schalke.

Also you shouldn't have taken my post so literally - they don't have to be 40m backups but the likes of Falcao, Herrera, even Mata weren't cheap

I doubt she had much to do with Chelsea's injury record. Mourinho's teams rarely have injury crisis- at least, not that I can think of.

Our injuries could have more to do with training and conditioning. I think we brought in a specialist to rectify that, no?

Maybe, our training methods our out dated or our playing style attracts more injuries. Or a combination of everything.

Mangala won't be on loan for ever.

The expensive backups are van Gaal's decisions. If you read the Man U thread, you will see that I disagreed on them being on the bench.
