Cheap thing to do online

I was playing on Winning Eleven 8 in the Soccer USA Room online. I played with this guy Grafite, he is a good player, he hosted one game and beat me. The next game we played he scored one, and I replied. Then he scored 2 and I replied again, seeing the danger of me getting another goal.

He went into completely defensive mode and he had at least 6 players on his side, then he passsed around the ball from minute 50' to the end of the second half. He just passed the ball in a line, up and down , it was easy for him to counter any of my attackers.
I do'nt care aboout giving this guy a bad name, it's more about has anyone spotted this happening, it was impossible to get the ball from him, no matter how much I ran around. I had my team on Counter-Attack mode so that didn't help in getting the ball, I couldn't stop it either. I really couldn't do anything, do you think there is a way to counter this. It really bothered me that someone could do that

make him pass forward by getting ur striker in between the defenders, creat an irristible hole in your midfield so he cant but try to run through it.

ill tell you whats gayer than that, i was 1-0 up, and the guy paused it, started a torrent and lagged me out, he equalised with ease, coz my players just stood by and watched.!

It's really bad sportsmanship no doubt about it shawshank; and i'd even be tempted to kick someone out for doing that on pes4online. The way the pes4 control system works; it is very difficult to get the ball if someone knows what they are doing. The best advice i can give it is to try and use manual player switching or a lower s-auto setting so that the player doesnt keep switching (more chance of the player you control getting somewhere) - set the attacking mentality of your team to red (L2 + L1 i think?) - and hten just hold square to try and get a teammate cpu guy to get in and start pressing.

You see, this is why online play really tests out the playability of a game. PES1-3 offline seemed almost perfect. Come online, and you find other people dont care about a fun game and its all about win win win, who exploit each and every weakness in the game and its AI. Hopefully Konami will have been watching closely and realise this themselves and make some changes.

yeah i love the way online play reveals a games weaknesses. i dont think pes is a major victim of this though. i would like to see someone keep the ball who "knows what they are doing" super cancel their ass R1+R2

On line stats have turned every player into a whore now unfortunately - with more and more players disconnecting when losing / Freeze the game when losing.

Yeah, I hate that guys who do that. They start Torrent or Emule just to lag. But I never found someone that passes from 50' to the end.

I played a cup match online. And during the second half it started to lag, I'm not finger pointing or anything but it was an irony considering I was at good point to win.

Well, that's not what i was doing dude. I had a different formation, it was offensive. I couldn't even pause the game to change formation

I post about this stuff on the Fifa forums and they are like "Huh what????????"

You guys are more passionate about your game then they are.

- I was victim of the staying on the defending side and passing all day.
- Making the game lag on purpose I first tought it was a coincedence until I read this thread.
- In Fifa If you are winning by the second quarter you get credit with the victory even if they disconnect.
- So they quit if I score right of the whistle.
- People are cheap and they win at any cost.

Killing of stats is the only real way to stop this.

YOu guys that complain on passing in backline appear silly to me.

I sometimes pass it in the backline when needing some new space and BOM I make some fast passes and get a great chance.

Sometimes when playing boring noobs I pass in the backline to and they are like some of you. They dont know how to take the ball! ITS SILLY.

How are you going to take the ball with three players running after 7 players? You cant take the ball if he is a bit skilled!

Go offensive! Put high pressure! three forwards two OMF´s whatever ! GO OFFENSIVE YOU DEFENSIVE BASTARDS

Well, that's not what i was doing dude. I had a different formation, it was offensive. I couldn't even pause the game to change formation

Same thing happened to me once. This guy was 1-0 up and started doing the backline pass thingy. So I just sat there, I think it was from the start of 2nd half. I didn't try to take the ball off him after a while...just sat there and waited for the game to end.

When it did, he went on to the game chat room and asked me why I just stopped playing. I said it wasn;t fun anymore. He said 'well that's football!!' you use whatever tactics to win!!'. I told him 'yeah if we're playing *real* football....but this is a game and games are meant to be fun. But it seems winning means more to you than fun, so I made sure you won''.

I have nothing against these people and would have left it as it is [you can't get rid of all the assholes on this planet]...but it seemed he was pissed off and he just had to flame me on chat.
