i dont mind loosing an online game (doesn't happen very often) but i played a game last night and it was very frustrating, every time i had a free kick the guy would move ALL his players into my 1/2 therefore he got the free kick right back because my players were ruled offside. i ended up loosing the game because of this and i hate when people make no attempt to get the ball when you're going to score and they blatantly take you out!

today i got completely and utterly arse raped by someone online and because i was hosting, i dont know who it was. He somehow got in to my team management and started substituting my best players including the goalie and changed my formation to 2-5-1 so that i was left completely exposed. Needless to say, I lost but it is so pissin annoying and as far as I know, there is no official EA online body to report these nonces to. These people who could not win **** if they were not such cheating bastards.
p.s. I do have to admit though, the offside trap mentioned above is pretty clever and I dont consider it cheating

The offside trap is gay because you would not use it in real soccer and to beat it all you need to is kick off to the side and run up the pitch because the other will have all their players up front and not only that but if you do use it all the game will be is offside calls because you would both use it over and over again.

The offsides IS BS. If you haven't seen it in real life, it shouldn't be in the game (add it to a LONG list).
One thing you can do, depending on your formation or where the free kick is, I have scored several goals by just passing square to a midfiielder (the option is often not availible) and he dribbles all the way to goal.
Either that, or just start doing it to him.
What sucks is that you can't talk to the person your playing while your playing or just before the match while choosing teams or something. Like in Madden. If so, you could just ask the guy if he planned on using the "offsides" bug (its so unrealistic, it has to be a bug!), then you could decide if you wanted to play him.
This could all be done in the rooms but it seems less convenient.
And its cooler in Madden cause you can pause the game and rub it in when you score or talk sh!t when you get scored on!

In real life the attackers try to move in line with the defenders to stay onside, but in fifa2004 they all just stand there watching the defenders run away, and there's no option to make them run back with the defenders.

When the computer has a freekick nearer the half way line than to ur goal so he cant shoot or do anythuing but chip the ball forwards quickly select all ur defenders (one at a time) then just move them forward or select them and they will run forward before the ball is played and u get a freekick for the offside!!

What I'm saying is that cheating is too broad a word to define, to one person "exploiting faults in the game" could be considered cheating. To another person, its being good at the game.
Now imo, it doesn't take any skill to make your defenders move up b4 the guy takes a free kick, leaving him no option but to kick the ball to one of his offsides players.
Please Wizard, how is that challenging, and how does taking advantage of bugs in the game make you a good player?
You can call cheating anything you want, but by definition, it certainly is a bug, as the fowards would never just stand in the offsides position wating for a pass.
