Check out Metrostars Golden Goal Winner.......Goal of year?

wow, great!
Del Piero scored a very similar goal after a long ball from Tacchinardi last year. It was his 100th goal in Serie A too. What a way to reach that milestone with. (H)

A great goal but not the goal of the year by far. Maybe last year it would have been a contender but this year there's been way too many spectacular goals in MLS. Ruiz' bike, Ralph's flick-spin-and-volley, Glinton's powerful long-range volley and a number of other great long-range shots.

Then you must not follow MLS very much. Like I said, there have been several better goals scored this season in MLS.

That's a cracka! Too bad two of the best goals of the MLS season this year have come against my Crew. Still a great goal though, but not the best this year.

That is goal of the year. Over the likes of Ruiz' bike and Ralphs volley.

Also to note that the goal of MLS was by Wolde Harris this year. Bike from top of the box. Full over head and everything. Fvcking linesman didnt catch it because it came straight out after landing behind the line. Sweetest bike other than the Rivaldo Valencia one ive ever seen.(H)

for Barca fans in asia, you can relive the Rivaldo bike goal against Che...

Great goal..... i probably couldnt do that....

You're missing:

Jason Kreis' header from the top of the box, Twellman's strike in the same game. Other long-range shots by O'Brien, Davis, Kovalenko, Glinton, etc.

Yes indeed. There have been many quality long-range strikes this year in MLS, that deserve goal of the year consideration, along with the volley, bikes, etc.

No. No they dont get any consideration. The Wolniec(sp?) volley, Ruiz bike, or Ralphs volley, are definately the finalists for goal of the year.

Unless those long range shots hit top corner from just inside the half way line ala Clarence Seedorf or Mark Van Bommel (you know the ones im talking about) they dont deserve consideration either.

Starting XI
John Wolyniec is clutch. He always comes through, and should start.

Magee-----------Wolyniec
---------Mathis------------

with Lisi, Clark, and Guevara in the middle.

Jason Kreis scored on a header from the top of the box where he was moving AWAY from the goal as he struck the ball. Are you telling me that goal does not deserve as much consideration as Wolyniecs. And yes, a lot of those long-range shots are also contenders. Orlando Perez' goal early in the season vs. Kansas City is definitely not something you see every season, especially from a player like Perez.

What I'm concerned with is that people are forgetting some of the goals scored early in the season when talking about goal of the year. So I'll try to round them up and then I'll post a poll on the MLS goal of the year so we can vote on it. :)
