Chelsea :: A bubble waiting to burst !!

When rich man spent heavily, they expect instant satisfaction and results. Football is NOT their playground. When they dun see results, they want instant changes. We all footie fans know that success in football cannot be brought with money. Football are won by conmitment, passion and the love for the game. With all the speculations surrounding Chelsea, I feel like laughing. The boss, who is a rich man want to change coach, and drops most of his puchases in the summer. I think he has zero knowledge in football. How you going to buid a succesfull football team overnight when you dun have the patient and time?? Let say if you really off-load most of your quality purchases and spend another gigantic sum on another set of players for the new season, and still the results go against you??? Off-load again, and purchase again?? If this is the trend, you will going to lose interest and start to venture in another things. Remember once that Mr. Roman said that he brought Chelsea for fun? What if he dun has fun anymore?? Chelsea will be left to pieces and debts. I dun know how the Blues fans who are overjoyed when a Rich Man from Russia bought the club, can realised it. Yes, a lot of money involve in football today, but Money can't buy football. The bubble are just waiting to burst. Blues fans.. Whay do you guys think ???

Give them another off season to buy and gel... then watch next year as much as i dont like to say it. Sven will be on the sidelines, and they'll have at least 1 of the current players from madrid.

I agree with u on some points. It does take time to build a team, funny thing is Chelsea are 3rd in the league and even that is not good enough. Roman wants to be ahead of Man Utd and Arsenal, where there teams have had years of the same players in there team. I also agree about him doing it fun, what happens if he gets bored of Chelsea or even football what would happen to Chelsea?. But i disagree with u on money can't buy football, just look at what Real Madrid have bought over the years, money can buy football, but lets face it, although Mutu, Geremi,Cole etc are good players, they aint no Ronaldo,Henry or Viera.

I am worried myself about the Thai PM taking over Liverpool. At first all I could think about was that they could spend like Chelsea, but then the game would be changed into the NBA or MLB where there is no loyalty.

Agree, but I mean Money can't buy the heart of football & I m confident Henry will never go to Chelsea becoz of Money. I dun really think that Mr. Roman know how football placed in Henry's life.

Chelsea have to fourm a team. I think that them going out and buying only superstars is bad managment. Superstars don't win championships fringe players do. Laugh at but think about it. Think about Man United and Arsenal. Henry is great but without Parlour and Edu coming through in clutch moments they are nothing. If you take guys like Butt and Kleberson out of Manchester they are in trouble. If star filled teams always won championships then Madrid would win everything every year but they don't. Great players are suppose to produce and give you a chance to win it is the rest of the team that has too win it for you. Roman has to figure this out. Duff I think was a great signing same with Makaele. Championship teams need the toughness and heart and both those guys give it. Then you look at some of his other signings and it is almost a step backwards. Why sign Crespo and lose Hasselbaink for nothing. That is a dumb move. Hasselbaink has been a big part of Chelsea and part of the reason they are in the champions league. (Zola being the main reason) Roman needs to spend wisely any team can sign Ronaldo for the right price but it is players like Gronkjaer and Gudjohnsen that have a habit of being pieces to a more complete team. Chelsea should save up there money instead of buying big name players who will not play all that much. I mean what is the point of signing Tomas Rosicky if he is only going to play as much as Gronkjaer but costs twice as much.

I've said from the very start when Roman gets fed up and he moves on Chelsea are going to be screwed.

There's not many people who will take on there weekly wage bill and so they'll be losing a fortune week in week out.

I can see them easily being another Leeds!

I dont think that will happen , the reason Leeds are in so much trouble is they took out huge loans to buy players , then sold those players for less than they bought them for. But if Roman does pull out expect a big sell off of players.

Not one of you's or even me should even be allowed to judge what is going to happen. No body knows Roman's temprement.

He has published documents on the Chelsea website saying he plans to be at Chelsea for atleast 15years. Thats what his contract on the Chelsea Village, but seriously who are you fools to judge? Who am I to judge? Sit back and watch for god sakes.

You say Roman wants to change the coach? Kenyon does.
Why would Roman go out of hes way to even get Kenyon if he plans to be there for "2years"

None of you have any evidence to back up your claims its all a bunch of "what if's".

english?? what, u can't read now?

your saying nobody has proof he will get tired of chelsea and leave, but just because he stated he plans to be there for 15 years does not guarantee he will stay, so what im trying to say is that nobody in here can proove that he is staying, or proove that he will leave.....so right now, Chelsea is Roman's army, period.

i'll just wait and see what happens years from now to make any judgement. sure i was a little suspect about roman's intentions in the future. we all know a championship caliber team takes years to generate. but they have the talent and have really exceeded my expectations as a collective unit thus far. i didn't expect them to win any trophies this year, so i'm not disappointed with them at all. remember, most of the players have never really won a major trophy before in their careers. if they can keep the core of this team, they'll be something. they don't need to necessarily go out and buy more players. but if that's what they do, then good luck to them.

The reason why Chelsea hasn't won as much as they wanted to this year is because they have had some major injuries and because imo Ranieri isn't a good enough coach to handle all of those world class players. I mean think about it, Veron is injured, Crespo was injured, Duff was injured, Cudicini was injured no team can win everything when such key players are out.

Hopefully next year they'll be at their best. The players will be familiar of each other and start to produce results.

I think I have said this before... I think Roman plays CM too much.

But anyways I would much rather Chelsea winning the title than the gunners... at least they beat us.

This is an awesome thread..... Raises some real good and valid points.... There is a lot of specualtion surrounding will Roman get fed up and leave Chelsea? Will Ranieri get sacked at seasons end?

Time will only tell, but yes i think Chelsea are definately building a great squad of players for the future........ They have a blend of youth (Gudjohnsen/Mutu) and experience (Hasselbaink/Crespo) up front as well as having some great young defenders in Terry and Johnson......

But i guess the main reason why this thread was started was concerning the financial side of Chelsea....... Will Roman be at the club for as long as he stated? There is no doubting Chelsea will offload a number of players if Roman did leave........ The financial burden on wages would be too great for someone to take over with.....

And just to finish off with i dont think Chelsea are done spending either........ Who will they get next?
