A 0-2 record for Grant against the bigger teams so far. I still think chelsea can get the title as long as they dun drop points against other teams cos Man U probably will and Arsenal definitely will but it just gets harder with performances like this.
Grant was brought in for more attack as part of the reason, but they didn't look any more convincing in attack than they did under Mourinho (except for Schev but he's still not Drogba). I didn't even know Carvalho was injured, and like you said, that goal may've been avoided if Cudicini more match fit had started. the problem to me was the defence, it's gone from being the most watertight in the premiership in the past to becoming a bit of a mess at times likes yesterday.
Nettles, we have discussed this before. A team cannot expect to play the game that they would like to play in 100%of matches. It all depends on what the opposition do.
If I only watched 3 Arsenal games this season, the games being Arsenal V Newcastle, Villa and us yesterday, then It would be very hard for me to see why Arsenal are regarded as an attacking team. They did not look attack minded in any of those three games. Arsenal, like every other team on the planet only play that way when the opposition are so bad that they can do nothing about it.
Onr thing you forgot to mention regarding the chelsea defence yesterday. Eboue took John Terry out pretty early in the game. Up to that point we were controlling everything. Once Terry went off, Arsenals game plan changed. They still could not find a way through us all the game, and it's no surprise to discover that it was a set piece to the back post (Terry's position), that the goal came from. Ben Hiam is no substitute for Terry.
The only difference between Arsenal and Chelsea's play yesterday was the fact that Almunia played out of his skin. That alone made the difference. Two incredible saves in particular prevented 2 certain goals for us.
WE dominated the midfield too, whatever the idiot gooners would like to think, and until Terry was taken out by Eboue we easily managed to stifle anything Arsenal had to give.
Of course this result at this time has no bearing on who will eventually win the league, but it goes without saying that to drop 3 points is always gonna come as a nasty surprise to us, that we could do without.
Fabregas...Diving cheating poof or what?. First game back and he acts like the little pansy he is. It would have been worth a red card to see Terry lay the little prick out. Not quite as bad as Ronaldo but running a very close second.
I don't mind losing, but I hate losing to scum like Arsenal. It seems to make the gooners even more moronic than they normally are, (if that's possible).
Still having a go at Ashley nearly 2 seasons after he left them. That is the typical ignorant, moronic and childish mentality it takes to be a gooner. Grown ups behaving and thinking like 12 year olds and thinking that they are actually funny? Sad <unts. Then again they always have been.
Ah well, onto the next game.
