MaestroZidane....Hi mate. As Zakov said, while we were doing fine the media put all their hate on hold, just waiting to pounce, and pounce they did after the League Cup defeat to Spuds and the Barnsley game. You notice that the media never slaughtered Liverpool as much when Barnsley knocked them out.
The media are so predictable that nothing comes as a surprise anymore. In fact it has become so tedious that nobody really takes any notice of anything that they print any more.
I love the way that Avram deals with it all though. Always calm and always unflappable. The media cannot get to him, he has proven that. In this respect he is a huge dissapointment to the media. They thought they could shake him up but they fail miserably every time.
This guy deserves respect. Not least for the way that he has conducted himself while all around have insulted him in every way that they can. They harp on about his physical appearence. It's not as if Fergie or Wenger are the most attractive men in football, but they never get slagged so personally. Nor do they have the media trying to dig the dirt on their wives either.
You know when the media have lost the battle, when they stoop as low as that. Of course they were hoping that Avram would be a disaster for Chelsea, but that has pleasingly not been the case.
They hounded him even before they knew anything about him, but when you are connected to Chelsea, you expect all the morons out there to dig you out, so it did notcome as a surprise to Avram.
He's a smart guy, and he knew what he was walking into when he took the job. That shows courage, because there were many experienced managers out there who did not have the bottle to come to Chelsea when Jose left.
For all the stick he gets, Avram always remains civilised, polite and philosophical. That really gets up the media's nose and that is an enjoyable thing to see. Much prefereable to the hysteria that Jose would instigate in the same situations.
Avram respects people. He respects other clubs, other managers and other players. That in turn deserves some respect back.
I'm happy have a man of Avram's ilk at Chelsea. As a person, he is a class act. I really hope it all works out for him, he deserves it. If only for the peace and stability that now resides at the Bridge.
