well, its normal they up their game against u lot, of course u shouldn't be worried about what they do or not, its yer own selves u have to take care of......personally i think it would be down to our clash against each other at the Bridge, i'm not expecting other teams to do favours for us(better expect nothing than always having to expect other teams to beat your rivals on EVERY fixture).....
plus, shouldn't u guys be happy with City's poor form this year(this game against us aside).........................every Utd fan I know is enjoying seeing City in such dismal form...
In saying that, we should just talk about our own team's news and result most of the time here, and thats the only relevant thing for me.....what City or Utd or any other team do isn't down to us......
back to the game:
good result for us anyhow, we're just 2 points behind(for about 24 hours at least, hopefully more)......a positive result may I just add, going into our clash against Fenerbahce at the Bridge....thats all we needed, a positive result and decent performance....which we did have.
btw, I feel sorry for Anelka, he's made decent runs all day long, and he's flagged offside most of the time even when he's not, and when he gets into decent positions, he should be a bit more selfish, he's probably the opposite of Didi on Wednesday....he could've got a goal if not for the crossbar and Hart....
and also, Ashley started, which means we could see Bridgey against Fenerbahce which is a good thing for me!!

Many teams raise their game against certain opposition, as Man City usually do against United. Saying that though,those same games should have raised United's game as well, but it did not. Usually it's because teams like United do not give enough respect to teams like City, and players seem to think that a win is guaranteed. That kind of arrogance will come back and bite a team on the arse, as it did to United, and also to Chelsea against Barnsley to be honest.
Anyway good win and 3 lovely points. Some nice football played by the boys today too. Anelka was everywhere, and if he hadn't of been given offside twice when he was clearly onside, he would have certainly been on the scoresheet today. Nice Kalou goal.

Yeah, but my mind is telling me to expect nothing despite the fact that Boro do have a decent record against Utd, well like u said, stranger things have happened, and it will be a pleasant suprise if Utd do lose, but lets not bother about that until we actually have seen the result.......hehe

'Boro did well today. Shame Rooney scored with a deflection to earn Man U one point though. Ferdinand got injured today, and with Vidic already out should make their defence much more vulnerable. 'Boro slipped 2 past them today which kinda proves the point really.
Only 3 points behind them now and 3 ahead of Arse. It's looking very promising for us.

Looks like Cech will be out for a couple of more weeks. Apparantly he had to have stitches in his lip and chin, after Ben Hiam studded him full in the face.

yeah, anything else and I will be disappointed, I don't think its safe just to go for one-nil(thats saying if we get the early goal), we need to take our chances and put them out of the tie as quickly as possible, because we saw how they clawed themselves back into the game as time went on.....
hopefully, with all the support at the Bridge the boys won't have any problems with this one...

well, my fellow blues, we got through, really tense and nail-biting finale, but it was all done and dusted once Lamps got the 2nd goal, nothing much to say except that we came out playing $hite like we did in 1st leg, luckily our defense was up to the task...........its Liverpool again, who we all know are always formidable in the CL....but we fancy our chances this season, but the big minus was Carlo's injury and Essien's yellow card, meaning Michael's going to miss the 1st leg.
He will be missed, he had an outstanding game playing at right-back and then in the right midfield.
but we've got through and thats all that counts for now.:Carlos*o:

Yup it was a bit tense at times, but with so much at stake and trailing 2-1 from the first leg, itwas always gonna be a tense night.
I can't agree about Chelsea playing sh1te though Zakov. The guys got off to a flying start and scored within 4 minutes. Then the first half was ours by a mile.
We became nervous when we lost Carlo, simply because Hilario has not played one game this season. That is bound to make the players cautious, and until Hilario showed that he was up for it, we tended not to spring forward so much, so as not to leave him exposed. We also purposely slowed the game down too which suited Fener more than it suited us.
We were the more threatening team all night. Apart from the goals, Joe hit the post once again with a nice flick, and even though Fener's defence were very good we made plenty of chances.
Fener had two chances that I can remember and they were both unconvincing.
Laser pens were shone in Chelsea players eyes once again from the away fans. They were green and red lasers and we spotted about five or six going off at once. We reported it to the stewards who said they would deal with it, but those lasers were still turned on our players throughout the whole game, so it looks as if the stewards didn't have much luck finding the culprits.
Watching an early Drogba chance on the highlights today, you can actually see the beam of a green laser, as it quickly cut across the camera and hits Drog in the eyes. Drog stops dead as he is blinded and the chance has gone. He actually reports it to the ref but I have no idea what was done about it.
Anyway we get 'pool again. This time the first leg is at Anfield which might give Rafa a few headaches before then. This time we will be ruthless. Payback time. All I hope is that whatever way it goes, that we don't have to argue afterwards about balls not crossing lines, or did Gerrard dive for the penalty or didn't he. A good clean HONEST game would be nice for once.

Didn't realise there were lasers, hopefully it didn't cause too much damage to our players, if it is the only annoying laser types..........
yeah, hopefully we get one over 'Pool this time around, no more dubious goals or dodgy ref decisions....
I hope it won't come down to penalties............but we got the home leg as the 2nd leg, so its a big advantage if we can grind out a decent result at Anfield.
