I think most of the times it's 4-3-2-1 and he mentioned several times that he can't afford 4-4-2 becaus he doesn't have any natural wings except Malouda.

Scolari has been sacked by the Chelsea board. What a bunch of incompetant wankers we seem to have in charge of OUR club. So now we go from having a new manager every season, to having TWO new managers in a season.

How on earth do the suits expect success when behind the scenes they are fu<king everything up?

This needs a serious sort out. Christ knows who they have in mind to replace Scolari. I fear though that they will make another huge mistake whoever they pick. I hope the silly stories about wanting Zola are just media bollocks, because Zola is nowhere near good enough YET to guarantee us anything. He has a lot to learn yet.

Can't wait to find out all the gory details concerning today's news. Should make entertaining reading that's for sure.

I know things have gone pear shaped recently, but is sacking Scolari the solution? Perhaps it is. Perhaps he was in over his head, because he has certainly made things messier at the club than when he joined.

I dunno. WTF are they doing to my club.

Just saw the story. I have to say I didn't see this coming until the end of the season at least. Who are you going to bring in is what I wonder.

Your guess is as good as anyones mate.

It makes me laugh. I'm hearing dozy Chelsea fans on the radio suggesting Di Matteo, Zola or Hughes. I do not want a coach put in place simply because that coach happens to be an ex Chelsea player. That is dumb. None of those three is the answer that's for sure.

I don't know who can do the job, but I think I do know who could not.

Wow. The only reason I don't say "I told you so" is that even I didn't predict it would be so soon. And to be perfectly honest, I think it was a terrible decision.

Hiddink would be a fair choice... Do you guys want Jesualdo Ferreira? haha (H)

No seriously, I can't think of many unemployed managers who would be suited for such a job, so I'm guessing either you "steal" a manager from another club or you go on hiatus with some assistant for half a season...

How about Mancini or Frank Rijkaard?? They are top managers.

As for sacking Scolari, It is a big surprised that it has happened so soon. But then again, when you are sitting fourth and dropping, I think the board is probably thinking that they are better of just cutting their losses now.

Big Phil: Losing Robinho cost me Chelsea job

By Soccernet staff

Luiz Felipe Scolari the failure to sign Robinho last summer was key to his failure to rejuvenate Chelsea's "old" squad.

Chelsea were outbid by Manchester City for Real Madrid's Robinho.
Robinho joined Manchester City instead as Scolari was only able to sign Deco in the summer and after just seven months in the job has been axed as Chelsea slipped to fourth place in the Premier League. Scolari's spokesman Acaz Fellegger believes it was owner Roman Abramovich's decision to get rid of the Brazilian coach.

Fellegger insists Scolari had the backing of Chelsea's players and the club's chief-executive Peter Kenyon and told Lance! newspaper's website: "It seems that Abramovich made the decision."

"He (Scolari) was not in a comfortable situation despite having the support of the squad and Peter Kenyon.

"The Chelsea squad are old. Felipe tried to rejuvenate it, but unsuccessfully. He asked (the board) to sign Deco and Robinho, but they only brought Deco."

Fellegger added that the the language barrier had not been an issue during his time at Stamford Bridge.

"The English language has never been an issue for him as he has given many interviews in English," he said.

Scolari himself issued a short statement on Fellegger's website, saying: "I wish luck to Chelsea in the three competitions they are involved in.

"I also take this opportunity to confirm that I will keep living in London and I will respond to the media soon."

I can't recall any unemployed coaches out there who would be right for the job. I guess knowing Kenyon as we do, he will attempt to entice someone away from their existing club, but who would want to work under these morons?

I think that Kenyon and the rest of them, have created the situation where many coaches would be too scared to come anywhere near us, and I wouldn't blame them.

I never had a problem with Avram, but he would never return, and I don't think he would be asked either.

Ray Wilkins in temporary charge is a worry. Yeah he's a Chelsea legend, but he's also a sycophantic arse licker, and that's the only reason why he has been given temporary charge. The sooner he's replaced (and eventually dismissed himself hopefully), the better. He's too smarmy and creepy for my liking.

I've always said that new additions to a club need time to settle. I would have expected to see Scolari given at least until the end of the season to prove himself, but think about it.

The beginning of the season for us was awesome. First game, we hammered Redknap's Portsmouth, and we looked like we were carrying on where we left off the season before. As each game came and went, we struggled more and more to get results. The football got worse with every game, the team looked like sh!t, confidence disappeared, our team spirit simply disappeared too.

I think anyone watching Chelsea lately would very easily see that something was very wrong.

Think of the the team quality at the start of the season before Scolari became "hands on". Then compare that with how we now look, and it's difficult to see how this might have nothing to do with Scolari.

I have been told that he was too laid back. Training was not intense enough, and it seems like he was intent on being everyones mate. He showed us that he was indeed tactically inept, and if a coach of his age and "reputation" can turn a scary Chelsea team into a laughing stock, then I am glad to see the back of him.

One way or another, we'll move on as we always have. All we can do is suffer in silence and see where it goes.
