Our squad age is alright, nothing compared to Milan and Juve.
Riccy, Ballack, Deco, Sheva, Lamps, Anelka, Drog, Belletti are above 30 years of age. While only Lamps, Anelka, Drog and Ballack are guaranteed to be in the starting line-up.
Riccy has been out of sorts recently.
The rest of our players are relatively young. Apart from Malouda and Terry.

the age range of first team players is between 26 and 32 which as you said is OK. in ManU its 16, rooney and edvin, hahahaha. Where's Joe Cole? is he fit?

Not yet. Still working his way back. Joe Cole is around 27 years old I think.
I think Mikel will be starting more games than Ballack next season.

Thats still considered old man. It brings you to an age average of 28-29. Next season it will be 29-30 unless you make signings or some players coming from the academy. I think Chelsea need to invest more on youngsters rather than splashing cash on relatively old players like Shevchenko, Crespo, Deco or Pirlo.

I think they're doing that at the moment. They brought so many great young players in the past lampard, cole, drogba, essian, cech and ..., they all came when they were so young. I think they should apply manu method, combination of 27-30+ players and under 23 players.

Wow never thought that Terry would be linked to a club like City. He is Mr. Chelsea at the moment and shouldn't even think about moving. But I guess he's just after a pay-increase, cause it is getting ridiculous

I don't blame City for trying to get him. But I don't see him leaving, I think as with all football players, Terry's agent is probably telling him to keep quiet so that the club would increase his wages. Similiar thing with Lampsy last season.

28 at a club he's been at all his playing career, moving onto the big pay day... he would be stupid not to consider it. Although I don't see him accepting it.

yeah, but Sparky's been saying City will be offering him a different challenge? And just what does that mean?

JT has been saying he wants to win the CL, the only challenge he'll get at City next season will only be the UEFA Cup, or does he mean the challenge of "how much money can he spend in a week", with the wages City are offering him.

Sorry Sparky. I just can't figure that one out. And being 28, Terry will realize he hasn't got that many years ahead of him as the rest of City players to have a good chance of winning the Premiership or the Champions League. I reckon he'll only have that if he stays with us. We've been top 3 for the last six seasons, have been to the Semis of the CL numerous of times.

Its a different case to Tevez, as Tevez was felt that he was being pushed out.At Chelsea, Terry is the captain, one of our core players, untouchables if want to call it, youth product as well, he's also England captain because of what he's achieved with us.

I wish the club or JT would put an end to all this nonsense, as much as I'm believing he'll stay, its really unsettling stuff.

Ahh, look at what our old friend Ovrebo has been up to.

Controversial decisions

Referee trio in focus as Odd beat Sandefjord 2-1

Both teams could easily have had two penalties each, but Øvrebø didn`t award any of them. He did however point to the spot in injury time as Kovacs was brought to the ground by a clumsy Rascic. Morten Fevang converted the penalty into the net and made it 2-1 to the visitors. A dodgy decision and the least clear out of the 5 incidents.

OFFSIDE GOAL

The game finished 2-1 to the visitors, but some of the goals should never have stood. 1-0 came through a shot by Røyranes, but the keeper`s view was blocked by Malick Mane who clearly went in for the ball from an offside posision.

1-1

Did it cross the line? Replays show that it MAYBE was, but you have to be a hudred percent certain that it is before you award a goal, and the ref clearly cannot have been from where he stood.

PENALTY CLAIMS

It should have been a penalty for Sandefjord when Røyranes was held back in the box. At LEAST when Fevang held Rascic tight before unleashing him with a push when he tried to score with a cross commnig into the box. Understanably Rascic was not to pleased with Øvrebø after the match. Being robbed for one penalty and then giving away a cheap one right at the end.

Odd should have been awarded with two penalties before they got it. Zanetti clearly clipped down Simen Brenne in the box( yes he did. I watched that part of the game. I watched the first 60 minutes or so.) Or when "Bentley"(nickname for Abukabeeze something) "dived"..wich was clearly a foul on the replays shown on the telly. Another mistake by the inept ref(sorry couldn`t resist).

The rest of the piece is about the game, the scores, comments made by mad Sandefjord "fans"(300 worldwide I would presume) about how slow and poor Rascic is.

We have apparently agreed to sign Nemanja Matic, some Serbian defender, and are close to deciding a fee, apparently 5m pounds. Anyone know anything about him? He's young and tall and I'm uncertain about whether he would get much playing time.

Stoch and Sawyer left on loan and Smith left, I believe. C'mon Ancelotti, sign Sneijder already.

Matic is a midfielder actually. What a summer this is.

Eto'o + Hleb + $40euros for Ibrahimovic. First preseason game tomorrow, live on ESPN. Can't wait, I'm so psyched.

I watched some Matic vids and he's definitely not a defender, aye. Defensive mid, I can't see him going upfield too much, his best passes are long ones, too. Good physique, his height will add more danger to our deadball moves. Good balance and good eye for a pass, if he can adapt to the league he could be a great sub for Essien, especially during the African Cup.

wooow, I saw Sturridge scored just 12 minutes after his debut. I think you did pretty well in transfer window. I didn't see the match, how deco played? when Yuri Zhirkov will make his debut?
