We're being linked with Mascherano, Benayoun, Yaya Toure Bojan and Assulin now. I actually don't want Benayoun. He's 30, and not fit enough for us. I'd rather we kept Cole. I don't get why we would want Mascherano or Toure. We've got Essien, Mikel, Ballack and Matic for that position, and Toure is African, do we need another DM to go missing every other January?

I'm pretty sure Bojan wouldn't come, and I'm pretty indifferent towards that. But I'd like Assulin to come. He's young, talented, available on a free and Israeli. Since Sahar and Ben-Haim bombed, 3rd time's the charm. Arsenal are also after him, it seems.

Word from the tabloids have it that Jose is going to raid us for Cech, Ashley Cole, Carvalho, Essien, Lamps and Drog once he gets into the hot seat at Madrid.

Masch is 26 and Toure 27. Your team need some fresh blood. Maybe they're trying to replace 34 year old Ballack. But yeah 4 DMs are too much. I'd rather give more chance to Matic.

Ballack is reported to have said that he will sign a new deal at Chelsea, and is happy to take a pay cut to sign up. He says that Chelsea is a very happy club, (aint it the truth (Y) ), and he doesn't want to move away. Good on 'im.

Benayoun is also reported to have said that he thinks he is moving to Chelsea for £6 million quid. Don't know what to make of this one.

I like Yossi. Yeah he's 30 years old, but he's very skillful and he's a very intelligent player, and he works his nuts off always. With the right motivation, he's got at least 2 great years in him yet, and at £6 mill, why not.

The thing with Benayoun is that from what I noticed in Liverpool games, he sometimes fade away too quickly. He does have occasional moments of skill and brilliance but that doesn't happen often to my liking. Add to the fact he's 30 something, I'd rather have someone from our youth team step up, someone like Kakuta especially.

Also, Benayoun doesn't track back and help out his defence enough to be on a team like Chelsea, where teamwork is paramount.

What we need is an out and out winger on the right hand side to compliment Malouda(which Yossi is clearly not, cuts inside too often), and although might Kakuta be the answer next year is prolly a bit too early for him.

As for the news with Ballack, I'm somewhat glad he decided to stay with us, although not the same player he was(in 07/08) he can be very influential for the growth of Matic, Mikel and Cork. Looks like Deco and Riccy might be out of the club. Mourinho apparently has his eye on Riccy so I wouldn't be surprised to see him join his beloved mentor at Madrid.

Riccy leaving won't be a big blow as it would a few years ago, mainly due to the fact we've got Alex, JT, Iva, Mancienne, to play in CB. Right-back, we've got Paulo, Boss, Hutchinson, Iva and left-back we've got Ashley Cole, Zhirkov, Van Aanholt. So our defense is pretty much covered worse comes to worst.

I agree with that. We certainly don't need Yossi by any means, and I think that would be the criteria for any players coming into the club. That being the case, I would be very surprised if he comes to the Bridge.

We have long passed the stage where we throw away huge sums of money on players, or go out and buy up every Tom, Dick and Harry who wants to join Chelsea, and I'm happy with that.

I'm also pleased because we seem to have reached a stage in our existence, where not only do we have a squad of quality and depth, but we have the added bonus of some very talented young players to choose from too. Young players who have worked their way through the youth system that Roman rebuilt for us, are now knocking on the door of the squad.

Five years ago we didn't have much of a youth system at all, but now, thanks to Roman's early awareness of the need for one, as well as his investment into it, and the much maligned (by some) efforts of Frank Arnesen and his team, the Academy is begginning to bear fruit. All this in five years.

That's good progress, and is why we no longer need to buy players that we don't actually need. All our young players lack is experience, they already posses the confidence and the skills, and under Carlo's charge I believe they will now gain that experience.

This of course will then allow the club to purchase only the player or players, that might actually make a difference. Players that we NEED, and not simply WANT.

The silly money is not there to spend any more either, so that should help the coach and the club to be sure the right choices are made.

OTHER NEWS:-
I saw David Sullivan (West Ham co-owner), on TV today, and he stated that he inquired at Chelsea, whether Joe cole would like to join West Ham. Sullivan say's that he got a phone call from Joe, telling him that he is "not even thinking about leaving Chelsea". I hope he says the same thing to every club that wants him.

Michael Essien hasn't made the World Cup squad for Ghana. There are fears that he might not be fit enough for the Chelsea team by the start of next season too. Lets wish him all the best and hope that's not the case.

EskWeston is an excellent subscription to have if you're interested in our youth and reserves. Best you can do if you don't have access to ChelseaTV.

Rumours are that:

- Mou is after all of our players.

- Stoch is signing for Galatasary

- Matic will go on loan to Udinese or Genoa

I hope the first 2 don't come true. Not too bothered about Matic, since a loan move could do him good.

Also, I'm very optimistic about Josh McEachran. I haven't watched the u-17 Euros, but he's wowed a few pundits it seems.

And Terry, understnadaby I suppose, got voted by 35% of kids polled as the worst role model of 2009-10. Drogba got 16%, Rooney 5, C.Ronaldo and Gerrard got around 5% each. What has Drogba done to deserve that? Kids are ******* morons.

Would you call Drogba a role model then? His tendency to dive and "fcking disgrace" although the latter incidence was in 2008-2009. They still have a bad image of him.

He WAS a diver. He doesn't dive so much now to still be called a diver. He's done nothing last season to make him the most frowned upon footballer in the eyes of 15% of the (junior) population.

And yes, he's done a lot for charities and African causes. So I would take him as a role model before most footballers.

Pogba4Now

Team Captain
Yeah as I said, they have a bad impression of him due to his past actions. I agree that he didn't do anything wrong in 2009-2010. Anyway do you think these kids think about all that? Thats a **** poll anyway. Who cares about these...

he didnt do anything wrong in 2009-2010...

as for 15% you have a nation of adult fans ramming down the throat of there kids how much of a diver and drama queen he is on the pitch, unless your a fathers a Chelsea fan.

Although I have to admit his of the pitch antics are rather commendable. But I cant imagine things like that interesting children.

Michael "The Bison" Essien has signed an extention to his contract with Chelsea that will make him a Chelsea player until 2015. (Y)

Robben, our former player is also facing the possibility of World Cup KO.
