ManU better in the first half, we were better in the 2nd. ManU are clearly the more technical side, but I don't think we played badly, we're just a more physical side, which showed because ManU looked spent in the 2nd half. We put in 3 great penalties, so **** Moscow!

yeah, great result and a good confidence builder for the lads, especially to win on penalties, which we've haven't done for a long while.

Lampsy's goal was a bit fortunate, since the in the build-up, Ballack did do a blatant body check on Evra(who lost the plot after having a brilliant first half, what a piss poor penalty).
But Rooney's goal was offside as well. So these things even out in the end.

Always nice to open up the season with a trophy. A bit disappointed Alex didn't play a part, there is speculation linking him with Real Madrid, I've a feeling that Riccy's not gonna stay fit for long this season, we need Alex because he proved himself last season, and he is one for the future at our club.

We actually have some depth this season. Loaning out Stoch, Di Santo, Mancienne is the best thing to do since all of them are playing in the first divisions (Premier League, Eredivisie).

Zhirkov, Alex and Belletti have been ruled out for the opener (as well as Joe Cole and Paulo Ferreira). Liam Bridcutt has been loaned to Stockport. Jacob Mellis to Southampton on loan.

I think in the loan agreement, there's always an option to call the players back in case we have an emergency situation with player injuries.
