What's with the Chelsea ass-kissing lately?

lol

If that was aimed at me, I just recently started visiting the thread, I like it and I'm gonna post my opinions on Chelsea in here if it's all right with you.

I admit I dislike Mourinho and Lampard and I don't like what Chelsea did to the market, but I prefer to talk about the players I admire at Chelsea, and those are Drogba, Makelele and Terry.

I have negative feelings for Chelsea as a club after the return leg, but I still respect their players and praising the ones I like is far better than bashing the ones I dislike.

SWP had the best chance. He was in the box and he opted to pass. Everyone around me thought he should have taken the shot. And let's not forget when Vieri let the ball run out of bounds for a corner instead of trying to control it and score.

I only saw a few highlights, so I don't know. I was talking about the time when Drogba crossed it for Lampard and he sent it over while falling down.

------------

Do you guys think SWP will figure in the starting eleven?

I doubt it. I didn't like nor dislike Mourinho during his time at Porto. I simply respected him for his achievements. But now after I see his press statements... I don't know, I just think it's wrong. I realise he takes the pressure off his players, but he's the only one. Why don't other managers do the same thing. Most are respectful, and Mourinho told the press at Nou Camp that he himself won more titles than FC Barcelona in it's entire history. Something like that is just stupid. Even if it was true, one should never offend an institution like that. Not when you're a public person like he is. And your players are model professionals and I think they could handle a little pressure every now and then. What Mourinho is doing angers me and I really hated him after our tie. Not because you went thru, but because he came to Camp Nou with no respect for the club where he learned how to manage a team.

As for Lampard, he once told the press that he had never heard of Stuttgart. That was before the CL clash. And during the closing moments of the second leg, when he took the ball to the byline and just stood there... that's just not the way to play football. In moments like those you can tell what kind of a person someone is.

I respect them both because they are amazing at what they do for a living, but other than that I have nothing more to say, but a lot less about them.

This wasn't a bashing.

ZKA....what you mean is that the PRESS said Lampard had never heard of Stuttgart,Frank actually said he had never BEEN there ,he never said he had never heard of the place man.
Are you seriously telling me that because Frankie took the ball to the corner post to waste a little time.....that shows what type of person he is?????Man you must dislike a lot of players...wow.......I think you just need to get over last years CL exit man....you are still punishing yourself.Try and see the real reasons for your defeat mate.Your defence....the ref and linesman in the second game...(not the first leg.... :) )......and not enough good luck......Its crazy to blame anything else and dont take things people say so personally mate......I know you love Barca man.....but a lot of people just see Barca as just another club, nothing special.Thats the way it is.....lots of ppl hate Chelsea and they tell us.....but we dont give a s.h.i.t......... :funny:

This wasn't a bashing either.......... :ewan:

I've seen Barca exit competitions enough times to be able to get over it.

What Lampard did was cowardly. I still think that in a moment like that, you either see a player who will, regardless of the result, take the ball and start a counter-attack or at least pass it on in order to maintain possession, or you see a coward who runs away from players. But that's just me, and don't think I'm saying this because we were eliminated. That was like, 5 months ago. I'm well over it.

I'm not punishing myself (WTF?) for anything. I know we are to blame for it, because we put Gerard as our DM and we had Gio and LB, we missed chances and generally didn't position ourselves well enough, but that's not the point. The point is, I dislike those two because of what I've seen from them, not because we ended our CL campaign early.

then you must hate Deco's guts for the way he is constantly diving .....you must despise Eto'o for accusing ppl of racially abusing him when they didn't......do you see what i mean man?......you are being a hypocrite if you shut your eyes to these things but get upset about some player going to the corner flag.Is Frankie the only player in your life who you have seen do that?Of course not, with 1 1/2 minutes to go,with the game in the bag, what the hell does anyone want to start another attack for dude...really.OK ,so say Lampard decided to attack and we lose the ball, one of your players boots it downfield towards our area.Suddenly Deco, who is in our area, flies through the air like he has been shot and falls to the ground, and the stupid idiot ref gives you a penalty, you score and we go out.Now is Deco a dirty cheating bastard or is he smart.....what would your honest opinion at that time be?......Of course you would say it was a cute thing to do......every one else would call him a cheating bastard.......Nuff said. I have never, but never heard anyone complain about a player taking the ball to the corner flag to waste a bit of time.Thats just crazy. You talk as if your players are angels and would not dream of doing anything nasty, and are dedicated to provide exquisite wonderful football......do me a favour man.

We've fought this battle many times in this thread, but it's obvious that people like and hate who they like and hate for reasons that seem hypocritical and duplicitous when put in perspective, but which make sense in the moment. For example, many Chelsea fans around the web hate, HATE michael ballack for diving on minimal contact in the CL this season. Yet obviously they dont think Joe Cole is a cheating bastard when he goes down with all the theatrics and then pulls out his violin to sob to the ref. That is just hypocritical, and frankly, I didnt see the point. Likewise, I was really pissed when guys like Ronaldinho and Puyol predicted they were going to easily knock Chelsea out, but when someone like Kezman or Drogba said the same thing about Liverpool a month later, I wasnt so pissed :) Its a double standard fellas, but hey, respectful debate is the whole point of this place

Glad you posted this Pede: I nearly did, but I figured people were tired of hearing about my little Owen to Chelsea fantasy :)

Wenger has already ruled out a move for this guy, though I never trust Wenger, and it doesnt make any sense for ManU or Arsenal to buy him when they have DMs to replace. The Toon look like they have a shot at landing him, but I doubt as to him going there, or returning to Anfield. Tge way I see it is that he would be cheap, and it would let us slide Eidur back and play him more as a mid, which would itself lessen the need to bust the bank on an Essien. Plus, Owen has to know he is going to get playing time over (though he would be best suited playing with) Drogba, and who knows how Hernan will perform once the season gets going.

Anyway, my fingers are still very much crossed. This guy is top class on and off the field, my favorite player point blank, and id love him to put on the royal blue.

Looks like Owen is going to the EPL or so i hear so your Owen to Chelsea fantasy might be coming true...for 20 Million Pounds.

haha.. you are kidding, right?

From BBC Sport...

"Didier Drogba beat two defenders and shot past Valerio Fiori to give Chelsea the lead after 64 minutes."

So, yah, 'owned.' And one of the defenders was the little tiger known as Gattuso. lol

Lucky dribble.

He beat one man, hit it forward and it hit Costacurta's shin, when right back to Drogbas foot and bounced ahead to an easy one on one that even I would score.

Jebus Rob, why aren't you playing week in week out at the bridge? :P

Roman cant afford me.

I am that lethal.

Last week at school, I scored 13 goals in 5 games :). Mind you we just have one garbage bin at each end as the goals, no goal keeper and loads of defenders.

I am lethal, I read the play like a bloody book.

The goal Drogba scored againts Milan is the perfect example of a goal he SHOULD score.

A goal that is all about shoving your way through and getting little lucky bounces before scoring.

Drogba's rather large build should be utilized more often. Wonder why he doesnt..

Because he's too busy rolling around on the ground like he's been shot. "Wef! Wef! He fouled me Wef! I broke a nail Wef!" Someone more worthy like Gudjohnsen should start.
