Carvalho technically is superior to either Terry or Gallas, better passing, ball control etc, launches attacks and incorporates the attack much better than any other CB. I mean he offers so much more to the team than the regular Centre back... I love the way how when he gets a ball back, he launches the counterattack immediately by sprinting to the midfield line and pass it on to a winger or Lampard.
Gallas is better phisically which suits him a bit more for the english game of having to clear 24234324 crosses and handle 90kg forwards.
What makes John Terry above them and any defender on earth is his positioning and strenght. It's really hard to believe he's only 1,83 when you see him not losing one ball in the air.
Carvalho had a bad game, that's all, I had not seen him have a really bad game for Chelsea before. Don't let your affective relationship due to him being one of the club's "oldest" players blind you... the fact is that a backline with Terry - Carvalho - Gallas all playing is much more solid than one with Ferreira and Del Horno, especially considering the crap form they've both been at.
I'm sure Mourinho will just slap him around a little bit like he has done before and threaten him with losing his starting position if he repeats it.
Anyway please tell me how it was such a bad game from him? He played terrible by his own standards, but I dont think he can be blamed for the goal, the sending off was definitely unfair and he only made one big mistake that I can remember WHICH HE SOLVED BY HIMSELF.
