It would've been nice if this 2-0 win against Blackburn had been a Premiership fixture but you can't have everything. Anyways, I thought that it doesn't make sense to on why they would start Gerermi instead of SWP. This is a good chance for SWP to play, and lets face it, Geremi doesn't have potential. If we lost SWP like the rumours about him going to Barca say, then we'd have a pretty big depletion on the wings. I think Robben then would be the only natural winger.

Ballack did start the game and Lampard finally got subbed in midway through the second so it's nice to be able to rest central midfielders. In your face Arsenal.

Seriously, that's great. He's proving to be a decent signing. Anyways, I just saw about half an hour of the match, and was wondering where's Lampard. I mean, I know he set up a goal and scored another, but I didn't even realise he was playing, which kinda sucked. Nice to see Ballack is getting his game back. And another thing I realised is that Chelski is by far the most even team in the world right now. I mean, from what I've seen, Drogba, Boulahrouz, etc. weren't even playing, and they still dominated and won, albeit against Sheffield. What I'm saying is that Chelsea has people for any position, and for any style of play, and unlike some other teams, one injury doesn't set them back, everyone plays close to the same level, with the obvious peaks, and that level is effing high. So if Lampard has a bad day, Ballack's there, Shev's not up to Premiership yet, Drogba's there, Cech out? F that, we have Hilario.

I have new found respect for Mourinho, which is saying something since he's a Carlos*ass.

Also, I've been hearing good stuff about the youths and reserves like Ben Sahar. Good to know.

Why is it a surprise they have so many back-ups? I hate to keep saying this, but they have the money, there's no reason why they shouldn't have the quality back-ups that they have, with the many billions that they possess.

The fact that they can have back-ups doesn't mean they do. But they do. Other teams don't. Chelsea rules.

For someone who's only advantage is goal difference and a small penis you sure are cocky, ironically. Meh, I guess all Utd. fans have small dicks.

They also could buy 11 world class players, but it doesn't mean that they will. But they did. Other teams can't. You suck.

Firstly, when it comes down to it, what they can have doesn't matter, they have the squad that they have and that squad is better than any other squad out there. What do you care if some russian's financing it? I remember many teams who spent fortunes on players and still plummetted, like Leeds, for example. Mourinho makes sure that he only gets players he needs and who are good enough, a point proved with the squad he manages. If he did have the financial support to simply buy anyone, then why didn't abramovich force him or ranieri to buy ronaldinho, totti, etc. when he came, all at once. He didn't, they bought excellent players, most of which have improvd beyond recognition at the club. There is not one player at the Chelsea first team who hasn't proved himself worthy (given time to prove himself). But no other club can say the same.

Therefore, yes, I might suck, but you take up at the ass, and you don't wipe, you filthy filthy bastard.

You really have no idea what was going on at Chelsea a few years back, do you? Started supporting them just last year?

In the whole paragraph i agree with only the fact that they probably have the strongest squad in the world.
However, first of all, Roman didn't buy Ronaldinho and Totti when he came because he couldn't and not because he didn't want to like you say. Chelsea weren't big enough 3 years ago to attract those kind of players. I mean Roman is mafia, but he can't just tell players to go play for him you know.

Second, many teams that plumetted like Leeds were teams that spent more money than they had. Chelsea has more money then all those teams that you could remember put together ever had.

Third, Mourinho is not that pefrect in transfers as you say. He bought like 30 players and sold or loaned half of them. Point proved, because he buys 5, tries them all and picks the best one, then sends the other 4 away.

Fourth point about you saying that Chelsea doesn't have unlimited transfer funds, does a 100 million pound bid for Ronaldinho ring a bell? Yes, i guess having spent more than 200 million pounds on players in 3-4 years still can't be called as an unlimited spending.

Funny how you call us cocky, while wearing your ignorant glasses on and what's that word you called me "filthy filthy bastard"? You don't even know me, pretty loose to throw such words around.

Meh, can't be pissed to reply since I'm probably wrong, although Chelsea's still best, and yeah, I've only been a Chelsea fan for..... 3 years. Not long.

Team Captain
As I've always said,

"Its not important how big or small it is. Its what you do with it that counts." :hump:

Sheva and Drogba have both travelled to Spain ahead of the Barcelona game. Sheva trained this morning so he seeems to be ok now. Not sure about Drogba but if he has travelled then I would expect him to play.

Good game against Sheffield United. Good game from both teams I thought. Man they just come at you like a steam train do the Blades. Great to watch. They made us up our game somewhat to cope with the early onslaught, but thanks to some great defensive work by the back four and another great display from Henrique Hilario, including a saved penalty, we kept a clean sheet.

Nice to see Frank bag a goal, and Ballack's header was unstoppable. 2-0. Three points.

Wayne Bridge was awesome, as was Essien, Ballack, Lampard and Robben. Good to see everyone coming back to defend, and defend well when needed. Everyone chasing every ball down. I lost count of how many times we nicked the ball of them in midfield. The guys worked very hard and in the end deserved it.

After the game, Niel Warnock said of Chelsea, "Sure they have the skillful, expensive players, but I wondered if a team like Chelsea could roll their sleeves up and fight for the points, like we do every game. They showed that they can do that as well. When I watched them today, I realised how they had won the league twice on the trot, not just with very big players, but with organisation and hard work"

He also likened Jose to himself and called him the first "Portuguese Yorkshireman". Pretty funny I thought.

Maximus, you're so right, that's almost exactly what Mourinho does. Actually, never mind, you're a bit far off but it's a bit true.

We have to take at least one of those two strikers to Barcelona, I do not wanna lose tommorrow, I don't mind if Chelsea are outshot 1322-0, I just want at least a point.

Sheffield played good I have to say, bad teams always play well against us.

That Barca result is just ace. So beautiful to see that happening. I'm just happied because of how Barca fans must've gotten annoyed after that second equaliser. I hope we can lose to Werder Bremen 10-0 so Bremen has a good shot of getting through to the next round and Barcelona are knoced out.

Does anyone know why SWP was not even on the bench but Geremi was? Did he pick up an injury or something?

And is it official to say now that Boulahrouz has displaced Ferreira from RB? More than a month in and I'm still spelling his name wrong.
