Should've had defenders at the beginning of the season. I really don't get why Abrahimovich won't buy new defenders if he is the problem like the media say. We had less CBs than some teams that have a tenth of the money we do. It'd also be nice to have strikers with Kalou and Drogba gone next season for around a month but it's better to bring Crespo back than waste +20million pounds on Villa or someone.

Thats not good BALLACK you should kno better, I could see Mourinho being angry, maybe it could be a blessing in disguise

Drogba, Kalou
Cole, Lamps, Mak, Essien
A. Cole, Terry, Boula, Diarra/ Ferrira
Cech

I think Boula should be given the opertunity in CB cuz we really need Essien to attack and make a presence in our midfield

Yeah I agree with Khalid in to give essien his freedom. I don't think Jose will do it though.

Don't forget that Arjen Robben is back tonight too.:mexican:

Essien will be playing so thats a big plus for us too. Last time we went to Anfield we were missing Joe Cole, John Terry, Ricardo Carvalho and Maka. It was also Petr Cech's first game back since that bad bad day at Reading. How else would the scousers have scored two goals?

This time, the only one missing is Ricardo. He will be missed though. I regard him just as essential to our defence as John Terry is. Ricci has it all. He has the flair of the Portuguese PLUS he defends his space like an English defender would. He has heart, he is brave and I'll miss him tomorrow.

Anyway, this time we have Joe Cole, John Terry and Maka back. Cech will be harder to beat this time too.

Juding by the noise thats been coming from Fat Rafa's big gob over the last couple of days, I would guess that Fat Rafa is s.h.itting himself over this game. If he loses this match then his season has been a flop.

I feel very good about the game tomorrow. Very good indeed.

We have scored 2 on you and not only on that occasion. But yes, i reckon Chelsea are the favorites to go through. That being said, i've still got hopes on the lads to play the game of their lives and take the game at least to overtime.

It looks pretty good for us, since the optimum tactics for our use today are the ones Chelsea does incredibly well: 1. Keep score as it is and 2. Score a quick/late surprise goal and then use 1. Plus, Mou is much more wisened up for matches against Liverpool, I'm certain that he'd prepared the team for the 'Anfield effect' and taken precautions to make sure the players won't get affected by it.

If Chelsea score a goal, it's pretty much over for Pool, since, even without Ricardo, it's near impossible, anfield or not, for anyone to score 3 goals against Chelsea what with the best defender in the world and best keeper.

im very very very sad now....damnnn... i just think Mourinho shoulda brang Boula after Crouch came off and put Essien at Right back because hes been amazing at that position. The game reminded me of the Barca game last yr in the 2nd leg where we played conservative and no risks were taken. Congrats to Liverpool tho....this sucks, maybe next yr

I'm crossed. I know that Chelsea could beat United if United made the final but I think that Liverpool will have a hard time of it. That game lacked creativity on our part. The substitutes came on way too late, and I don't know why Geremi took the penalty. Hard luck on Cech though, he's the best goal keeper but he couldn't guess right on any shot.

yup some very strange decisions made last night for sure. Losing Essien from the midfield was a costly mistake I think, as Boula should have been given the chance to play which would have given us Essien in a more dangerous position.

As the stalemate went on and on, I was waiting for Jose to make the changes. They never came. Subs not brought on early enough, and when it was obvious that we had the upper hand I expected the formation to be more attacking, but nothing changed.

Penalty shootouts are a crap way to finish a game for sure, but it should never have got to that stage. All we needed was one goal and we were there. We failed to score for the entire 120 minutes of the game and that is not acceptable in my opinion.

To allow Arjen to take the first penalty after his layoff and injury and taking into account his short time on the field in his first game back, was just madness. I think we all knew that Geremi was gonna miss too didn't we?

Crazy decisions indeed. Still as previously said, there is always next season so whats the big deal.

After 60 games so far this season, the boys did indeed look jaded. It's a huge task to be up there and fighting for 4 trophys in a season. It takes a lot of luck and minimal injuries over a season, to get anywhere near attaining that huge goal. Considering all of that, the guys have done amazingly well to get as far as they have I think.

The League Cup is ours. We are in the FA Cup Final and we are still chasing the title however impossible winning the league might look to some. We reached the semi finals of the CL too. I think every club on the planet would be appreciative of the commitment given by their players to have reached that many highs in the space of one season. I certainly do.

We still need a little more time to evolve as a complete team I think. Its still early days for this squad, their first season together in fact, and I do think that too much is expected from them from so many people.

This season has been valuable to the squad. Its been a learning curve but at the same time we have done well. I think that needs to be noted.

Next season we should be more cohesive as a team and as much as I love Jose, he is entitled to make a mistake once in a while too without every wanker jumping on his back. He too will learn from this season as he would probably tell you himself. He is human (and special):D

This Chelsea is only 3 seasons old. The first two seasons we took the League title twice. We had 2 seasons with minimal injuries and a massive squad. That is something that we never had behind us this season. We have suffered from the same curses as every other team in the league, and we are still where we are.

I've been following the Blues since I was 6 years old. One thing I have learned as a Chelsea fan for so many years is that, there is always another season to achieve what you failed at. As a Chelsea fan, it has always been essential that you get your head around that philosophy, otherwise you would probably have alrteady committed suicide by now.

I'm a patient bloke and I'm too long in the tooth for last nights result to get me down for too long. Today is another day and its the remaining competitions that we are still in that matter the most. So lets look forward to a little more silverware before the seasons end huh?

Wouldn't have been bad for us if United had gone through because their CL final would've been four days after the FA Cup final which would've put pressure on them. There's an interesting article about Mourinho's possible replacements on soccernet, Mourinho himself though is probably the best replacement at the moment.
