The game has been rearranged from April 14 to May 9

In my opinion i dont like it id rather have it earlier and the chance to cut gap early but now its like the 2nd last game.

So that basically means that if we keep the 6 point gap till that match then we can afford to lose both this one and the last match of the season since we have a much better goal difference right? Great news (Y)

well no, because if i remember correctly you drew against chelsea in old trafford, so if you lose in stamford bridge and the last game, being that chelsea wins both, you finish with the same points but with the advantage going to chelski..

Doesn't matter, everyone is shaping this up to be THE match when it's obvious Arsenal will beat Chelsea gifting United the title.

no its Goal Difference... as far as i know. It always has been.

It is goal difference unless they made a change that I missed / wasn't aware of. I don't think the premiership employs the same system used in the CL group phase.

Spain uses that system. hopefully someone has the willpower to google this up.

The league is rigged, the could of done the FA semi's in midweek. The EPL or FA is the only league that i know of the schedules two competitions on the same weekend. What if Chelsea didn't want to move the match.

I'm lead to believe that the fixture date was decided with the semi-finals of the Champions League in mind, but if both Manchester United and Chelsea fail to make it through to the semi-finals, then I can see the fixture being brought forward as you'd then have two empty midweek slots. I don't see both getting knocked out though, maybe one (more likely United imo).

Too bad, FA controls the Premiership (hense "The FA Premiership" and not the "English Premier League") and the FA Cup is their baby.

1. Goal diff.
2. Head-to-head
3. Play-off at Wembley/Cardiff

Does the play off thing not come in after goal difference? I'm sure that a few seasons back when it was set to go down to the wire between our lot and yours, there was an announcement saying that if the goal difference was the same and we were level on points a match would be played.

the league isn't rigged, after 38 games whoever is top of the table deserves to be there. you can't fluke 38 games. sky would probably have something to do with it, the devil on the shoulder...
