I agree he is world class, but you must replace an italian superstar (zola) with another, naturally, although it is my dream for del piero to go to chelsea that will never happen, vieri is the next best thing

When can we see some official source's?

There is nothing on Chelsea's Official website or Inter Milan FC's.

This guy can buy any player who is playing in spain, including any Real Madrid player via MINIMUM release clause, which the club cannot do anything about - every player must have a minimum release fee in spain.

Moratti is denying it, but i must say the man is on a plane on his way to Stamford Bridge, as according to the article.

what is a minimum release fee?

Every player in Spain has a minimum release fee clause in their contract, say David Beckham or Luis Figo will have it in theirs, and if Chelsea's bid match's that release fee, Madrid will be forced to accept.

for example, say.. Luis Figo had a £80million minimum release fee in his contract.

And then Chelsea came along and offered that amount, by ruling.. and contractual clause, Madrid will be forced to accept and can do nothing about it, the only person who can stop it happening is the player himself by declining personal terms.

They're a pain in the bum on CM, so many players have them and there's nothing you can do but offer a new contract with ludicrous wages and a sky-high signing-on fee

Easy way to make money on CM4, buy some starlets like Anton Ferdinand, Diego, Robinho, Rooney etc, and give them a release clause of £20m, offers eventually come in after a few seasons.

is it like that in all the leagues or just in Spain?

Just Spain I believe, I'm sure its a rule by the Spanish FA that a player must have a minimum release clause when signing.

Anyway take a look at BBC.co.uk

Chelsea suffer Italian snub
Chelsea have received a double snub after being told Juventus' Edgar Davids and Inter Milan's Christian Vieri are not for sale.
Juve's transfer supremo Luciano Moggi warned Chelsea's new billionaire owner Roman Abramovich that he would not secure Davids if he offered "the moon".

And Inter president Massimo Moratti insisted that Vieri was not for sale.

"We have refused an offer from Chelsea which, I confirm, was made," Moggi said, while presenting Ghanaian midfielder Stephen Appiah as Juve's latest capture.

"If Abramovich offered the moon for him [Davids] we would still not sell him," added Moggi.

The signing of Appiah from Parma after a highly successful year on loan with Brescia, had been seen as an indication that Davids' Juventus days may be numbered.

But Moggi said: "Davids is part of the future of Juve."

Vieri, who turns 30 in two days' time, was top scorer in Serie A last season with 24 goals.

"I met the Chelsea owner but it was just out of courtesy and to try and establish a rapport between my club and his," said Moratti.

"Sure, we talked about players. He asked about our best players, but Vieri is not for sale and the squad remains as it is."

Chelsea have been linked with a string of players since Russian oil baron Abramovich took over at Stamford Bridge.

The Premiership club have already had an undisclosed bid for West Ham's Glen Johnsen accepted and it is also understood that Real Madrid's Geremi is a target.

yes spanish players have the release clause... but if the player doesnt want to leave.. it dont matter if you pay the release or not... and most super star players.. have such high release clause that they have to be negociated anyway

If Abramovich leaves it too late to signing players(say mid-august), no doubt will he begin the hard way and exploit players with minimum release fee's, its very possible someone with his money will do that.
