Our 1st half was terrible, although Rui Costa missed a penalty. At least, from now on, those 10 guys were left without a moral ground to whine about a place in the starting 11 (especially Barbosa and Capucho).
Our main choices started the 2nd half and solved the game for us in the first 15 minutes. Then they simply rested their butts, which is fair enough, since the humidity was so high. Seems like the weather conditions, and those who adapt to them first, will play a big role on the team's behaviour.
Conceição is in great shape, as well as Rui Jorge, Caneira (a guy from Benfica!!!
) and Baía (a guy from Porto!!!!
).
I advise you all to see Baía's miracle save in the 1st half. Funny how I was slagging him yesterday, saying that he's no longer good (remember, Denis?), and the guy simply puts on a monster exhibition. That save, man...It's IMPOSSIBLE!!! Be sure to check it out!
Overall, it could have been a good test IF two of out players, Paulo Sousa and Petit, didn't get severely injured. They are probably out of the WC for good, which is terrible, especially in Petit's case. He's our main DM and the key to our attacking style of play (I won't bore you all with technical explanations).
Oh, and Figo played the last 10 minutes. Apparently, he was alright.
