Liverpool's midfield did quite well defensively in the end, but they didn't have enough of the ball to do the necessary damage with the dangerous looking pair of Bellamy and Kuyt. Gerrard was very unlucky not to have scored with his shot, however.

PSV had plenty of the ball but their build-up was very very slow. They allowed Liverpool to organise their backline in every attack and more often than not it was the long ball into the Merseysiders' box - which wasn't good enough.

Not exactly the direst of games, but certainly didn't raise any pulses.

In the official PSV forum many members are calling him Player of the Match and some have given him the highest ratings....

He played really well, pretty much neutralized Bellamy. He saved two goals at least.

It was great seeing him play as well as he does for the national team.

Very dull match indeed. Salcido did really well. Benitez is a little upset about the weekend I would think....that bench could eaisly be champions if he played it instead of the starters.

i think thats understandable considering this was his debut in the Champions League....
