CL Semi Final :: Chelsea vs Barcelona (P+R)

Untalented teams can't generate so much chances of goal... which doesn't mean they can't win games, Chelsea won tonight. This only happens in football and it's absolutely fantastic.

Goal is consequence of the game, if the game doesn't change in the second leg we will be in the final and you'll watch it on TV.

Correction, if the game doesn't change in the 2nd leg, WE will be in the final.
I usually watch the games on TV anyways due to my line of work. So what's your point?

Instead of pondering on stats and supposed dominance(which by a few days will all be forgotten anyways), you should blame your players for poor finishing and not crossing the ball when you had the chance. If Fergie was your coach, it's hairdryer treatment time for the likes of Busquets and Fabregas.

But I have to say that while we did rode our luck, we played a good game tactically, we can't match Barca from head to toe so the best approach was to frustrate them and we did just that.

I don't think Chelsea frustrate Barça, we were just unlucky on goal but that was an awesome away performance + in a CL semifinal in Stamford Bridge.

******* A.

Great result, if we can stop them from scoring in the 1st half, we could very well do this.

23 shots against 3 in Stanford Bridge CL semifinal. total domination, we could have finish this in the first half... Goal is the biggest lie of football.

ugh ... I would never wish this [even hypothetically] upon any team, least of all Barça ...

Oh and tits.

Score goals. Teams able to generate 23 shots usually win matches.

Not exactly the truth. Shots have to be converted to goals as well and more times than you're opponents to win matches.

Anyway, tell me Chelsea fans that you are going play a high line against us,pleasee!!!

I'm a bit sad, not scoring in a match it's like your cock doesn't work right in sexy time.

This was a good game to watch, lots of close calls with some heart stopping moments. In the end, a nice result that will make for a great second leg.

Just making a point that people remember results first and foremost rather than stats like possession or shots on goal. We scored, they didn't and we won 1-0, end of story.

no no, I realized what you meant ... and what you say is likely the case for most on the winning side, but I don't expect that's the way people on the other side [would] feel ...

"The result is unjust but we knew that Chelsea are a team that take advantage of their opportunities,'' Iniesta told Barcelona's official website.

Yeah, for Barca fans I imagine that would most likely be the case. Our friend Arnau here is a pretty good example of that.

But like I said, tough titty.

Wow. That was a thriller. So many times I thought Barca would score and they would have that away goal, but they didnt.

I was hoping for a second goal, going to the Nou Camp with just a one goal lead is not going to be easy, I dont expect Barca to fluff their chances again. We have two choices, either try and park the bus and frustrate them and prevent them from scoring, or come out of the blocks fast and try and get an away goal early. I'm not sure no matter how hard we defend we can keep Barca at bay for 180 minutes, so I think I favour the latter strategy, though it's a very risky one that could result in a thrashing.

I got so hammered after that game just to relieve the built up tension, I have a vague memory of arriving home at five am with the intention of coming on here to gloat but not being able to work out how to switch my computer on. It also made me really realize what a privilege it is to be the only British team to get to play games like this this season.
