DEAR SVEN,
How dare you put the hopes and dreams of England at risk.
How dare you consider walking out on players who were convinced you were committed to England.
How dare you consider a future away from the FA, who gave you such a great job.
And how dare you turn your back on the millions of England fans who welcomed you, put their faith in you and chanted your name.
If you’ve done a deal with Red Rom, you might as well go NOW. Talk about sorting yourself out!
The incredible pictures in today’s Sun that reveal your two-hour meeting with Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon on Thursday night will strike a blow to the stomach of everyone who cares about our national team.
Amazingly, the meeting was just 24 hours after you met FA chief David Davies at a swanky London restaurant.
Yet it was only a little more than a month ago that you were angrily dismissing questions about your commitment to England.
You told reporters: “I am amazed every time this comes up. People seem to have forgotten I have a contract until 2006 and nothing has changed. I think that you think about it much more than I do.”
JULY 2003 ... Sven snapped going to see Abramovich
Well, that’s hardly surprising now is it?
You got away with it when you were pictured going into a meeting with Roman Abramovich.
Then we were happy to accept you were just going for a chat and giving him some advice.
But your meeting with Kenyon was your SECOND in a fortnight.
What about, might I ask? Whether Janine will get her comeuppance in EastEnders?
Perhaps you were sharing thoughts on which way the FTSE will go in the next six months.
Or were you talking about your future as the next Chelsea manager after Euro 2004 with a £26million basic five-year contract to boot?
Well if that’s the case, I do not want you in charge of England this summer.
I do not want someone who has sorted out a new job working in their old one. Can you honestly say you will be fully focused on England? Whether you can or not, I’m not interested.
Coming up is perhaps our best chance of winning a major tournament since 1966 and you have now put that in jeopardy.
I can only wonder what Sir Alf would make of it. I believe this is worse than Don Revie’s walkout.
No, this will go down in infamy.
If you join Chelsea as boss it will guarantee they will become THE most unpopular club in the country.
MARCH 2004 ... Sven has another meeting with Chelsea
You don’t get away with things like this.
I have to wonder about Kenyon as well. If I shook his hand I would count my fingers afterwards.
The supposed ‘lifelong Manchester United fan’ — I’m told he supported City — dumped the club as soon as enough cash was put in front of him.
This was a few months after he had made a balls-up of the Ronaldinho transfer which could have reinvigorated United.
But I am not suggesting the two situations were linked, not in the least. That is unthinkable. Anyway he dumps United and legs it.
What happens next — Trevor Birch has to go after doing a great job at Stamford Bridge. Then he moves Ken Bates aside.
Next on his hitlist is Claudio Ranieri, who he has subjected to the worst lingering managerial death anyone has had to suffer.
Kenyon, don’t you know how to treat people?
Chelsea and Kenyon do not deserve a manager with the impeccable manners of Ranieri.Despite putting the club second in the league and within a game of the Champions League semi-finals, he is being unceremoniously dumped.
I played for Chelsea and have kept some affection for the club.
It’s gone now and, believe me Kenyon, what goes around . . .
It would be great if Ranieri now wins the Double and then tells them to stuff it.
That would wipe the silly grin off Sven’s face now, wouldn’t it?
I know this all might sound a bit strong but that is how strongly I feel about it all.
I’ve been one of Sven’s biggest supporters. Well, no more Mr Nice Guy.
I’m serious Sven. If you’ve done a deal with Chelsea the country do not want you in charge of the national team. Clear offski.

What a brilliant article by the England and Chelsea legend.
I won't believe that Sven has been in talks with Chelsea until I see clear photo's with him and Kenyon.
But if Sven does admit too it, and the stories are true, then he can piss off back to Sweden.
But for now, alot of questions will be asked when he announces the England squad tonight.
